toyo snoprox winter tyres for non winter use

  RB 182 FF
hi guys, looking at a car with toyo snoprox tyres on the rims.

how suitable are they for non winter driving? would the car grip/handle less with non summer tyres or are these tyres extremely grippy and then give you a hand in the winter?

cheers

Winter/snow tyres are usually heavily siped with a softer compound. The Toyo SnoProxes are no different.

If you do choose to use them as a daily tyre in dry/warm conditions, you'll rub them out very quickly - which would essentially be a waste of a good set of tyres.
Not only that, but it would increase your braking distances.

If you buy the car, budget for a set of "summer" tyres too. Keep the SnowProxes (they do well fairly in Swedish snowtyre tests) and pop them on for next winter.

EDIT: Here's the test: the stars should do the talking... http://www.dacktest.com/pkw_winterreifen/toyo/snowprox_s_942/index.html

Don't be put off the car BY them though... it can be seen as an indicator that the previous/current owner is a wise and careful driver - never a bad thing.

You can also use it as a bargaining point.. "well... I do need to get new tyres... will you knock a couple of hundred off it?" :approve:
