Right, am goin travelling to vietnam, cambodia and thialand at end of May for 2 months.

One lad is taking a mint camera fairly old (not digi) but its got big zoom etc.

wat i want is a good quality digital cam, fairly good zoom but also small as poss, because dont wanna be lugging round a f**k off camera lol.

any idea ppl, wat do you have, how much etc etc

I have a Canon Ixus 900Ti, 10MP and awesome features. Takes a really good picture and have no complaints so far.
Can get it for less than £260 now :)

Canon Ixus 60, only got 4 times zoom but you wont find much smaller!!! Then get a Crumpler pp40 mk II case!!!!

Again Canon Ixus or Pentax Optio are probably the smallest and the ones I'd go for. I still have an Optio S4i (4MP) which still does a cracking job.

Im still using an old Digital IXUS v for general snapping, might only be 2.1mp but it takes amazing quality pictures for its size, im guessing the newer ones are mind blowing - the 900Ti is total sex piss for a compact according to dpreview. If I wasn't totally addicted to DSLR's i'd probably have bought one :)

I bought a cannon ixus 60 on saturday love it, ordered a 2gb card off play.com so just waiting for that to arrive as i;ve only got shitty 16mb one in at the mo. Very nice camera small as f**k and pic quality is awesome cant beat it really for the money!

got a link to where u got it etc joel. cheers. looking at an slr type cam now but with digital screen etc.

around £200 really needs to be ok with being used outside alot due to travelling

right, all my family know i want a camera now lol.

sooo will have about £300-350 for a camera, really want a digital SLR type thing so good zoom and mint for shots, would quiet like to get into it and am doing a media production course next yr at uni so all ties in lol.

anyway now i have a price range wat can u all suggest (again) need something thats ok to be used outdoors etc and will be carried around the far east.

cheeeersss.

(am doing lots of research but u guys seem like pro's.)

For your budget and needs I'd go for an SLR-alike/bridge camera, compact with a nice big zoom.

Check out cameras like the Canon S3 IS or Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50

yeah cheers bud, been looking at the s3 seems pretty good. at around £250
