someone has offered to buy me one as a gift (v lucky eh?), and seen as i just blew mine up may as well get a decent one!

anyway, up to about £350, http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2192 Alpine CDA-9815RB or the Pioneer. I love the graphics on the Pioneers, but dunno, fancy the Alpine!

go for the new clarion, has better features than the alpine, and i prefer the sound of it to the alpine.

though the alpine is good, the displays can be hard to see in the day time.

this 1, has loads of good features, the display has some grafics on it also, and has like 700 diff colour combinations on it, u have aux in, 3 rca outs all 4v, mp3 with i must say a better and easier to use files system than the alpine, also wma playback. if i had the money i would go for that.

  Skoda Fabia vRS

well Malice is right, durin the day, and in a Clio, the Alpine displays are VERY poor

but ive got used to mine, i mean the quality and power make up for it, i dont sit lookin at the HU, i DO sit listenin to the music

Good if your going in for spl comps and such, but not for everyday use ! TOO expensive. This bloke clearly wants to show it off to his mates and impress the ladies (LOL) Go for the alpine, very good sound looks and not a bad price ! all around winner !

LOL!

Adam mate, out of them two, alpine all the way, that 9815 is a bargin for 339!!!! its like 500 in the shops, its an aweseome head unit! get it! u wont be dissapointed!!!

But I would go nakamichi all the way!!!! Thats what I want! seeing as ive had an alpine 9812, might upgrade! but the only prob is that they dont do motorised tft screen head units do they ? And thats what I want really... & clarion are doing a very good deal on a Sat Nav Package ;-) And is it me or that nakamichi u posted up doesnt have any rca outs for amps??!

What about becker...? lol ;-)

The Nak will have RCA outputs. Ive got a 2 1/2 yr old CD-35z which was the base unit and that has RCA outputs.

Personally I dont care that it doesnt look flashy. Its sound quality that counts in a stereo non? And for that reason alone it cannot be touched by similarly priced main brand units.

Do you all own home hi-fis? I take it from the above that they are also full of flashy lights, graphics, changeable colours etc? You know the ones. Theyre aimed at the 14yr old brigade.

Everyone thats heard mine (still with the standard speakers) is amazed at the reproduction, and some have even changed their minds and gone for one themselves.

As the guy in Dimma said, where I got it from: "You really wont hear anything better mate. Weve all got them. They make everything else sound sh1t."

yep, true Nak Hifis are the best :) Ive got home hifi... but a seperate system obviously for the best SQ! would never get a midi system unless I didnt have the space & had to resort to it! the Nak MP3 Player lands in december!!! Wooohoo!!!

The cda 9815RB ??? TIZ QUALITY NUFF SAID....... no really is a quality piece of kit maybe not as good as the naka but lets be honest that looks like a steamin dog crap. worth every penny... NUFF SAID

yep, 9815 is amazing, but there aint much differences between that and the 9812... so if u wanna save a hundred coz u wont be making use of the other features then u might wanna consider it!!

well the more important features are 3 way crossover (which I need for my 3 way components) a more updated better I-personalise, bass engine pro, Subwoofer Level Control with Phase Selector, MM Driver (Hard Disc Drive) Ready, mobileHub Ready
And thats about it!

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

yeah i thought about that but im not keen on the display type, the txt, the 9815 looks better.

If u just want sound quality, go for the Nak, but if u want a bit of looks then go for the alpine. just got one recently - theyre brilliant!! Couldnt fault it

The extra £100 for the 9815 over the 9812 is worth it, even just for the screen. It just looks soooo much better. i-personalise is better on the 9815, u can load it via cd-r/rw whereas the 9812 needs u to print out the settings and manually put them in the HU. Ive been told the bass engine version is also better - 9815 got bass engine pro and 9812 bass engine plus, although i dont really know the difference, think theres more channels and stuff in the settings.

hehe, yo johnny ho, display aint much of a problem.... Its whether the nak can do what I want it to do!!! Are they suitable for big installs with more than 3 amps etc etc? & also if ive got 3 way components, will they have 3 way crossovers in them? coz thats what the 9815 has got! & i think i might need the 3 way crossover if ive got 3 way components wont i ?

  The Jinx

A nak would probably be better for big installs cos of the purity of the sound. Not sure on the crossover front though. You might be better off asking http://www.caraudiodirect.comwww.caraudiodirect.com for some advice there. THeyre pretty good for advice though, and theyve got a forum over there.
