What should i look for?

Even though ive got a 182, i dont actually know what i should be looking for if i were to be buying a used one as mine wasnt used.

A friend is going to look at a Ph2 FF 172 tonight, is there any common problems that he should be looking out for, knocks, rattles, bangs etc...

Is there any giveaway signs that something is wrong, and is there any known common faults for these cars?

Any help would be great thanks.

Centre exhaust, 4K rattle.
SH, SH.
Steering wheel thumb grips.
Condition of tyres & alloys.
Check around window rubbers for overspray & door shuts.
Check boot floor for any creases ala rear end shunt.
Drive it, if in dought walk away plenty out there.
Etc, etc

Check for dents down the side of the bodywork . Also on the bonnet where they sometimes get pushed down to lock it and dent very easily .Check the whole exhaust system , they rust and drop to bits after only a couple of years . Also condition of the brake discs and pads .Any lights on the dash .
