As Chris says it would be like using a rotary.

The speeds of it are quite high even at the slowest setting which is not great.
 
Yep stay well away, my rotary starts at 600rpm and ends at 3000. 3000 is far too fast to use on paint. So 4500!!!!

Though at that price I would suspect the motor to not be up to much, bof down etc.
