You can use ANY form of polish or sealant its just a matter of reading reviews etc... I got Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection only because Halfords were doing 3 for 2...if you go there just get SRP, EGP and Autoglym Shampoo...that'l do the job.

Its a never ending cycle though be warned!

Agree with the super resin polish, its pretty decent when used by hand.

Get the basics right though, 2 buckets (soap and rinse), mitt for paint, and probably another one for wheels.. Or a brush.

A good drying towel, cleanyourcar sell a few good ones.

Clay bar and quick detailer if you want to do this..

Sealant maybe? I like chemical guys blitz. Easy on and off.

Wax of choice for me is swissvax onyx.

Also get some decent applicator pads for applying polish/wax, and some microfibre cloths for removing it.

Blackfire Tyre Shine is superb for finishing off!

For a beginner; Megs Gold Class, megs wash mitt, I4Detailing towel, Megs Smooth Surface Clay kit, Super Resin Polish by Megs foam pad applicators, Megs MicroFibre to buff off, Extra Gloss Protection via foam pad applicators, Megs MF to buff off, something like P21s (now called R222 by the gay americans and I refuse to lean to that name and will still call it P21s).

We know he's not actually going to carry on this detailing malarky anyway tbh ;)

Starting Point, 3 main products, shampoo, paint cleanser (polish) and wax.

For < £30 (All from I4D)

- Duragloss 901 Shampoo
- AG SRP
- Meguiars #16 Wax

Then add mitt, tyre dressing, glass cleaner etc.

Loving the difference in past experience as per :)

Megs Gold Class
AG SRP
EGP
Megs wax (not spray)

Mainly because all the above are available in Halfords Timmay (makes it easier for new detailers, rather than internet buying etc).

  A well built VW
Id maybe stay away from the Megs #16 I used it once and it removes tar spots which makes me wonder what its doing to the polish sealant ?

EGP and SRP are best for hand use Duragloss 901 is the best shampoo i have used, CG Blitz is an excellent easy on off sealant and good price too - mitts/towels and M/F we all have favourites just pick a good quality one and you should be ok.

Good choice for wax is Collinite 915 had great reviews on DW in blind wax test last year

I use pretty much the same stuff but with Collinites 476 wax, seems to be best for durability and beading and all applied by hand/ foam applicator

It is great for durability, but there are a lot of questions over how good it looks.

But that is opening up a can 'o' worms!

What?? Megs#16 is a great wax, and I don't quite get why you're steering people away from it?

Lots of products will remove tar if it's relatively fresh, so I wouldn't go bashing a great wax needlessly

  RB 200 Cup!
nice one cheers guys

as for all my haters - get fucked! ;)

cant get a PW / snow foam lance thingy as not on mains water so havent got the pressure there which is s**t

few products getting bought and used saturday me thinks ready for sunday meet ;)

Not bashing it stating a fact - people can make up their own opinion based on it. I loved the look when it was on so much so i have very little left but you have to question what it is doing to the stuff you have applied previously if its doing that to tar. FYI this was not fresh tar either

FFS go take a valium and chill the f**k out
