What an incredible place. I was lucky enough to spend the past 12 days over there with the missus, it really is the best place in the world that I have ever been to.

Just had a look through the masses of pics that I've taken and thought I'd share some of the highlights :)

I have a few friends who have been and one who works out there, they all recommend it!
 
Sweet! My aunt spent 2 weeks in the Burj Al Arab last month, she says its out of this world!
 
Looks like a stunning place Luke, would love to go there some day. Nice work with the photos, the light on that straw hat is awesome lol. :)

Hazza - Those pics look like they were taken from Dubai's Trade Centre Building, which was once the tallest building in Dubai. You can just about see it to the right of the Emirates Towers in the second to last photo - it looks tiny!
 
Nice pics.

Always fancied going there, but never have due to their strange/strict laws. Fear of getting arrested for not facing east when doing up my shoe laces in public etc.

Nah I hate clubbing mate, not my scene at all! Was there with family so just lazed around for the week. :p Saw you putting these up on Flickr and figured my little thread won't be getting too many views now haha.

I'd definitely consider moving out there bud, coming back to England isn't much fun after a holiday.

Honestly mate, don't believe any of the horror stories; they are all blown way out of proportion. Just respect the fact that it is a completely different culture, that's all.

Dan - Don't go out there, your pictures would put mine to shame! Lol.

Ian - Lol, I went out there last year, good fun but a complete s**thole tbh! Would love to back to Crete and see the rest of it though :cool:

Also, any recommdations on whereabouts to stay?

Going over in October to meet up with my bro, so need some clues lol

I could get the chance to work there but not being able to kiss my missus in public is a no go!

FlameR - Just my trusty D40 mate! Looking to upgrade later this year though. I couldn't comment on the best places to stay holiday-wise, I'm lucky in the respect that my old man currently lives out there. Let me know what date you're over in October too, I'm planning on flying out then!

Markie - Cheers mate! Yeah, that's Dubai Mall - It's huge!

White16valver - About £700, not including fights. Bear in mind that's pretty much doing something different every day, from desert safari to indoor skydiving, I don't think I did too badly! I spent £900 in 10 days in Malia last year pretty much on booze :o
 
Nice pics, my bro was working out there last month and went up the burj khalifa, said it was a little disappointing, didn't feel that high from the observation deck as it's not that far up the building. Said it didn't feel feel any higher than being up the empire state building.

Burj al arab, god, I miss that place, really want to stay there again, take a bird there, was out of this world.

I can recommend the Atlantis, we stayed there last year and it was amazing :D
 
I absolutely loved it there, but sadly, its far too hot for kids so won't be going back until they're 13/14.

Pisses me right off tbh! lol.
 
This makes me want to go even more now!

Just booked my flights today for July 7th :) 1 month bring it on!!

Any chance you could PM me of a few things to do around dubai mate! Would be much appreciated. :) Epic photos what settings did you use??

Daniel - Lol, too right. Was touching 47 the day before we left, went to the beach but it was wayyy too hot to just lie there. Went for a cool down in the sea but it was just as hot. FFS!

Luke - Will fire a PM over now bud! Very jealous already that you're going out there. Will be HOT then and very humid at night! Pics wise - Manual, with a selection on kit 18-55, 55-200 and 50mm F1.8.
 
Yeah man! I bought the 50mm out there (worked out slightly cheaper than over here).
