F1 2010 Challenge

Seems fitting since it came out this weekend and Singapore is also this weekend.

So basically fastest lap.

Car can be any, track must be singapore in the dry, assists can be any and the lap must be valid.

To start my best so far is below, its still poor though

should set this to no assists tbh, good choice of track though I suggest we do this every race weekend and see if we can beat the best times on the track!
 
1.43.930 with a McLaren, custom setup. Braking line for corners on, auto gearbox, everything else off (traction, abs, etc).

I do love the game to bits but it can be frustrating on these tight tracks. Need to be 100% perfect to get a good lap. I think with a few set up tweaks I could go faster.

Took me a few attempts to even get a clean lap though. Have a look at this video! I gave up after the first clip lol. Sorry about the poor quality. I'd rather not have to upload a huge file just for 1min of footage.

I cant even approach a 1.43, using a pad, Lotus and no Assists i am doing 1.47's - Very frustrating track, but great when you nail corners.
 
Aye it has to be absolutely all assists turned off, manual gears and the ghey racing line thing turned off. Gonna have a play on it now.

I wonder if some formats are quicker than others? I.e. console versus PC?
 
Took me 12 laps on time trial just to get a time as every lap was discounted due to me putting a tyre over a line, really pissing me off especially when they discount the next lap when you havent even finished the one you are one, totally pointless doing that.

The only time I managed before I got angry the following lap was 1m 53s with no aids
 
You will be stuck in the low 50's then you will suddenly drop to the mid 40's as soon as you put a half decent clean lap in.

The problem is more getting valid laps. You can do low 1:40's all day but it usually involves a minor infringement that never gave you any benefit but invalidates your lap.

Then I find the issue is you can be on for a low 1:40 but then start getting anxious about a small mistake invalidating your lap near the end so you end slowing down too much or having a self fulfilling prophecy and making a mistake!

Totally agree with that, sort of ruins the game. The lap invalidation in forza worked a lot better. Only invalidated your next lap if it gave you an advantage on the run up to the start finish line and let you use the kerbs more.
 
Just done a 1.40.200 in the Red Bull in time trial on the pad - swear its piss easy in time trial compared to the career mode.
 
Guys should do Suzuka as thats the next race in real life.

Best way imo to make this challenge move on by itself is to always be trying for the next race and the cut off is when that race finishes, you then swap to the next.

At the end of the season do what the f**k you want lol.
 
Will still going with Silverstone then or changing track? Currently trying to get used to Silverstone doing 1.33's
 
Id keep with Silverstone, but we need to state if its:
with a wheel or pad
What aids are on.
What car you're in.
 
Currently lapping about 1:33 using s**tty PS3 pad and all aids off. Just struggle with the new corners :(

Oh and hate how you so much as touch the grass and your next two laps are invalidated. So f**king unnecessary!
