No problems at all! A lot easier than I thought. As I was told that some times they ask to see the car to inspect it, obviously transporting a bare shell to the DVLA would be a right pain in the ass!
I done this back in December, I just sent the log book with the retention forms and a letter to explain that the car was a shell and was broken for parts.
Very easy, theres a few torx screws along the edge of the windscreen, one either end of the dash by the doors then you have to remove the steering column cover (2 torx bits underneath) once thats removed the last two screws are below the clocks. The airbag is held in by 4 bolts I think may be...
I've got the other style "official" one and they connect wirelessly like the controllers, you sync them and that's it. Just charge it every so often with the charge lead that comes with it
Not sure if this is much help, but on my other ph1 this happened and I just removed the dash top, took the passenger airbag out and the alarm unit is there, just unplug the cables and refit everything. the remote locking still works too.
All assists off, lots of PSI in the rear tyres and some negative camber = drift sessions!
Play with camber and tyre pressure settings to get the perfect set up for you.
