Is that the case? On the safety devices website for the RO20 cage, it now says "not for competition use". I've checked with Mark Fish and apparently the same issue applies...
I get that the push button isn't always live, the wires behind it are far too small to carry the current required... but I need to cut the ignition live - and that's the problem - where to find it! Hoping someone who has done it can shed some light?

Anybody got any experience with fitting a battery isolator to a 197/200 track car?
I'm interested to find out how to isolate the ignition live (not the battery itself), whether to do this at the fuse box, the ignition (start/stop button?) or elsewhere?
Looking at a solid state isolator...
Hi Mike, thanks for coming back! they're all disconnected, do they need to be open circuit as in no resistors on the end of the cables?
Will this work for the seatbelt pretensioners and seat position sensor also?

So after much messing about with resistors and stuff and still not clearing the airbag light on my 197, I've decided to buy CLIP from eBay (yes yes fake copy I know bla bla).
Does anyone with experience have any pointers as to how I go about navigating the menus to turn off the required airbag...
@DrHammershaft yep AST 5100 with top mounts. I've not decided yet but leaning toward 450 front 500 back... Any reason you're going harder? Julian has offered to calculate optimal spring rates for me but I'd need to disassemble the strut to get the measurements for him, which I'm not really...

I've just had a good chat with Julian at Balance Motorsport, in conjunction with AST.
I'm buying coilovers for my 197 track project, and couldn't figure out why a lot of you opt for heavier springs at the front and lighter at the back. Surely this just induces...
