    Yes, you can run the MBP at native and then the TV at 1080p, if you make anything full screen though, videos, etc. The MBP screen will go blank.

    Go to account in iTunes and click reset the authorised computers, it's just the amount of computers that are authorised to play items purchased through iTunes..

    They are both edge LED, you want full LED really. Although they are more expensive. Looking at 750 quid for something like this that's full LED http://www.comet.co.uk/p/LED-TVs/buy-LG-42LE5300-LED-TV/631418 I have no idea how good that set is, just an example for pricing, etc

    First SLR

    I have a Nikon D60 with kit 18-55 lens that you could buy off me if you like. Sat in a cupboard not really doing a lot at the minute, very limited use, probably less than a 1000 pictures taken. Sounds perfect for what you want it for! PM me if you're interested in it.

    Find a student and buy one new! ;) The base 13" will do what you need it to. Depends if you really want a 15" screen i suppose. Best of going into the shop and having a look to make your own mind up.

    You might need a new aerial, you also need to check that you can receive freeview HD in your area. Google freeview HD to find the website to check.
