Wouldn't putting a rag up one of the exhausts make the reading higher on the other one? Be great if it works!
Exhaust is completely standard... You reckon change lambdas before cat then? Wondering if diagnostic would say what it is exactly? The emissions light is on (orange light, used to flash...
Wondering if getting the car red hot before re-testing would bring down the CO levels enough to get it through, or do you think because the readings are so high it wouldn't do it?
Thanks
So took the 182 down for it's MOT today. It's failed on the emissions with the following results;
Fast Idle test
Engine speed 2450-2850rpm - 2574rpm Pass
CO Max 0.20% - 2.65% Fail
HC Max 200ppm - 819ppm Fail
Lambda 0.97 - 1.03 - 0.91...
One thing I was wondering was, if they say my 'air con radiator' needs replacing, is this just the condensor that is alongside the radiator or the radiator itself? Reason I ask is because I thought the radiator purely was for engine cooling whereas the condensor is for the air con?

The car was originally in for a service with a well regarded specialist off here who confirmed the air con had no gas in it whatsoever... Took it for a re-gas hoping this might be enough to get it going, but they confirmed a leak as expected. They have narrowed it down to the air con...
Hi All
My air con used to blow ice cold – didn’t use for a little while and now in the heat when I need it most there’s nothing! Took it to a Kwik Fit type place who tested it and have said the air con radiator is leaking but have a couple of questions for what to do next.
They’re quoting...
Just spoke to them and they've informed me mines not on the recall list ('55 plate 182). He said they could be done in batches, but as he can see its not due anything...
Thanks mate - So its probably better to go for a 2000, 3000, 4000, then polish? Just want to get the best results without any risk to the headlight?
Seen some people have mentioned just trying metal polish first - does this actually get some of the hazing off?
Sorry if I'm asking the obvious but what are the reasons for not using this? Be keen to know as really want to get the hazing gone this weekend.
Thanks JD
Quick question - It's only the top part of my headlights that are bad. Am I therefore best of only sanding/polishing the top half or still doing the whole light?
