yeh its a whole new head thanks to the tensionner being abliterated bending 6 valves lol tappets will be done too, yeh it was a decision between scrapping and me having a play....i went for the latter and hopefully will be back on the road for next to nothing ;)

yeh so it is 2 decanewtons = 20 newtons, it just diddnt sound very much to me, il have to borrow a smaller wrench from work then, the one i was going to use....starts at 40nm :mad:

can anyone tell me the torque settings for clio 1.4 rt (energy engine) cylinder head bolts please?!? i know the tightening sequence etc and ive even got the torque.........but in decanewtons, a modern day equivalent would be gratefully appreciated (lbft, nm or kgm)

my mk1s got a after market cobra cat1 alarm/immob, the alarm goes off every other night (normally between the hours of 1am and 6am) ive disconnected the bonnet switch etc all windows are closed, locks and unlocks fine, although i have noticed occasionally after locking the car sometimes the...
i would have thought theyd run through a relay, maybe the master switct for the drivers side is playing up as thats got to work for the passenger side to operate correctly....on mine it has anyway lol
its normal for a car of that age...mines always done it since i bought it, i expect theres a seal somewhere that you could replace but i havent bothered.....mines always "damp" but it doesnt pour out......
its only the drivers side that this is fitted. not got any wiring diagrams for them though, when mine went awol i just traced the looms etc and fault found from there on......sorry matey!!
did it again last night.....now its only doing it if i dont use the car during the day....if i use it earlier in the evening its fine....:S
another thing thats baffling me is the fact it goes off for a couple of minutes then without doing anything at all it stops and never goes off again...
it will work but it sounds like a bit of a bodge tbh, just go to an electrical store place, even somewhere like maplins where you can buy lengths of cable however long you want, get the right guage cable and youl be fine, id suggest doing it (or getting someone) to do it properly and soldering...
yeh ive already come to that conclusion but its been fine up until now and theres always been cats around so unless theyve just suddenly taken a liking to the car.....who knows!! it wasnt windy.....god knows
