Although ive never had a loan on a car...just had cash put away and used that....i hate getting in debt, only one ive got is my mortgage which is unavoidable.
Id say clear your debt and get yourself straight, then get a 6-12 month old one...
Nick, youd pay a grand on a 172 if u have not many NCB or a colourful driving history! i got a quote for a new 172 at around £600 and im 26yrs old, 8 yrs ncb (but max was 5) no points/claims etc etc. Parked on a driveway overnight. This was a Direct Line online quote btw.
Jock, they are much of a muchness...prolly 172 slightly faster to 60, CTR faster to 100...read all the tests and the 172 is faster to 60 in most and the CTR is always faster to 100....on the road the differences will be very small. Be happy with the 172 and CTR, IMHO the best cars u can buy for...

My CTR test was obviously not quite right some way. At the end of the day all the mags say the 0-60 times of the CTR and 172 are similar(slightly quicker in the Cup) and the 0-100 is a bit (second, second and half) quicker in the CTR....at the end of the day it comes down to driver so doing the...

Theres been a few with sub 0-60 runs.
BTW it was my Civic...how accurate the run is i dont know!
In real world terms there isnt going to be alot (not really noticeable when driving) between mk2 172, Cup and CTR in speed.
