    Trophy Track Rat Beginneth

Bit of an update as a year has gone very quickly! The car now has most of the things discussed: the Sabelt steering wheel, custom Bilsteins by Pure Motorsport (with top mounts) and a half cage fitted by Mark Fish Motorsport. I've not been too precious with it, but I ordered a spare set of...

Clio 182 revamp - initial thoughts

Nice to see there are a few mad folk out there. I started a thread on creating - effectively - brand new 182s! I've had a lot of interesting conversations with people, and there is a lot of enthusiasm out there... so you're definitely not alone. I have actually been mad enough to buy a couple...

I'm going! Will be good to meet you guys - will be my first Cliosport meet in about a decade! Check out my Instagram - I'll be taking my camera so your cars will likely make it on there. https://www.instagram.com/rob__fenn/

Would you spend £18,200 on a Clio 182?

Funnily enough, I own a Huracan Performante and forged carbon was something I was thinking of as making a feature point. Is your guy UK based? I know of a very good place in the USA, and am getting some bits for my Lamborghini because a) I want more carbon and b) to assess it's quality. Thanks...

Nice driveway! I am picking my 70th Anniversary V8 Defender soon - can't wait! The UP is a funky looking thing. For me, the 182 is a better base. But just as importantly, it has credibility and - for me personally - it's a nostalgia thing as much as anything.

Would you spend £18,200 on a Clio 182?

Totally get that, but this isn't designed for me people with one car - it's not meant to a case of "I'd rather have a...".

Already on the case for this, BTW. The Recaro Trendline people refer to is actually a Style Trendline. There is a Style Topline that can be specified - from Recaro - with ventilation and heating. It also just so happens it comes in the same pattern that Renault specified for the Trophy. ?

Would you spend £18,200 on a Clio 182?

Funny you mention the orange dials @Rob , where it's getting darker earlier now I drove the Trophy the other night and smiled at that warm orange glow within the otherwise pitch black cabin (forgot that the heater dial isn't illuminated). I personally love the nostalgia, and personally don't...

Would you spend £18,200 on a Clio 182?

What's the multi-quote bit all about? Must be getting old as I can't quote people! Perhaps this is the wrong demographic then. When I was a member, of course the 182 was a brand new car which people were paying (£15k?) for, and then going out and spending a couple of grand on. For me, this is...

Would you spend £18,200 on a Clio 182?

For me, the Clio 172 / 182 is the essence of what a hot hatch is. It's practical, but crucially small - perfect for B Roads. Nowadays, everything has got bigger, heavier and - of course - turbocharged. Right now, the closest thing seems to be the Fiesta ST (conveniently, with 182bhp), a low...
