I am trying to remove the rear wheels bearings from a 2001 Clio II. I have a made a drift to get it out. Is it possible to knock the bearing and ABS ring out together from the side with the circlip or do i need to remove the abs ring first and knock the bearing out from the inside. Any tips on...

Yours have gone and its a 2003 model, im shocked. thought mine was bad being a 2001. I am not very chuffed about the quality of some fasteners used on my car. Some of the fasteners are just rubbish! They are so corroded, they look like they have been on the car for 10 years.

cheers guys, yes you were right it was an SMI. Finally got under the car properly tonight and noticed on the steering rack as sticker with SMI printed. Thanks for all your help!

Tried jacking it but still couldnt get the bush to compress enough.

Has anybody had experience of fitting them (outside ones - connecting to the hub). Yesterday i struggled for 2 hours trying to compress the rubber enough but couldnt. There is only about 8mm of thread at the end to get the nut on ans hardly anything to clamp with. nightmare! cheers

possibly may have to change the driveshaft as my abs sensor ring is goosed. not sure if ill be able to get the old one off and the new one on. cheers

I need to replace my gearbox oil on a 2001 16 1.2 clio, would the following oil be ok in place of the elf tranself stuff? Fuchs titan gear syn 75w-90 (semi-synthetic) Or doesn’t anybody else know of a cheap supply of gearbox oil? cheers

sorry cyberblog, misread your post. Might just get a whole new driveshaft from gsf for 60 quid, as the cars done 71000miles, and imagine the cv joints will go soon anyway. I just hope the ABS rings are included on the new drive shafts. Not sure as to the reason of the warped discs, but they...
