But clearing it is slightly different to resetting the ECU. If the ECU still thinks the cam sensor info is duff, it'll ignore the signals and not activate the VVT. If you can, try battery off for at least 2 hours and a full charge.

I personally, would find yourself a trickle charger, remove the battery, fully charge it over an evening/night and pop it back on in the morning after cleaning the connections. Then see how it feels. Tried a code reader yourself?
