Sorted now, earth strap was loose, thanks for replying.
Of course it can turn over but not fire, and then stop, all that is required for the engine to turn over is the starter motor to crank the engine over surely…
Got a Clio 172, it's going tonight so just gone to make sure it starts ok and it turns over for a couple of seconds then stops. It's been parked up for a while, a couple if times the battery has run low so i've recharged and it has started and run fine, have started and run it regularly...
I'm not exactly sure which, i'm sure some on here that are, but with some Cup models not having a PAS pump driven off the AUX belt, how do the blocks differ, or are they all the same externally from a mountings point of view with just variation on the supporting brackets?

Thanks for that. We will be trying to de-stroke a two litre engine for Super1600 in the near future but at the moment just building a new F4R engine for the rally car.
When we built my K4M Super1600 engine we had to chance the jets every time we did a full rebuild because you cannot get them out without damaging them.
Is this the case with the 172 too? They are bloody dear from Renault!

Got these part numbers off two cams I have just taken out of an engine, I assume they are standard but wanted to check. Part number searchs are bringing up nothing.

What are the differences between the 172 ph1 and ph2 engines?
Building an engine for my new rally car, so which is better as standard, are inlet or exhaust ports bigger on either for instance.

I don't watch many trackday videos or anything, but what struck me watching yours was how little grip you appear to have. What tyres do you run? They seemed pretty poor in the damp
