Can you still get 195-45-16 PE2's

Michelin told me they have been discontinued, and I failed to get hold of any a few months back. I fitted Pilot Sport 3's but I wouldn't recommend them. Great performance in the wet but, don't do the steering any favors and make the car feel slow to respond in the dry.

    Standard exhaust

l80ous, Might be worth giving these guys a try: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/baldocks_wivelsfield/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 I think I talked to a chap called Nigel when I bought my 172 Renault exhaust off them, he did it a bit cheaper than his ebay price, which was already pretty good. Essentially...

172 Cup Lower Ball Joint Knowledge?

Woops! Sorry no I'm not! I just read GSF and accidentally wrote it. I meant to say Unipart there! As in my 2nd post on the first page, sorry!

172 Cup Lower Ball Joint Knowledge?

Heya Phil and Stingray, the outer bolt is splined to the arm and would require a lot of force to get it out. It just means that you can undo it without having to get to the top, since there isn't really any access. I've not replaced it on mine either since it was in good nick. So I've only...

    KTRs coilover camber problems

Don't know too much about how these are put together, but perhaps some of the loctite used for effectively permanently fixing sleves and such applied to the excentric section that goes through the knuckle. And/Or a set of spring washers between the face of the bolt/net and the coilover to help...

172 Cup Lower Ball Joint Knowledge?

Bit of an Update for you all.... I've measured and lined up the new part I got from Unipart (Part No: GSJ4682) with the old joint which was original Renault and the Unipart component is around 3.5mm shorter from the outboard fixing centre to the ball joint centre! I rang Renault West London...

172 Cup Lower Ball Joint Knowledge?

Thanks buddy, I'll have a look tomorrow then and double check UniPart are right and then double check that I've done my bit right!

    Seized slider

Drill is certainly one way and it shouldn't pick up if you get the right size, but does seem a bit risky. An appropriate brush shouldn't be too tricky to find, but perhaps some emry wrapped around a pencil or such might be a little more controlled?

172 Cup Lower Ball Joint Knowledge?

Hi Guys, Hope everyone's had a good Christmas and enjoyed the wet weather antics available in their Clio's! The bold question is all I'm really asking the rest is just a rant so feel free to skip down. I recently found a bit of play in the drivers side ball joint, so talked to renault, who...

    Cambelt Crank Pulley?

Hi Kev, Tried to send you a pm, because this opinion always gets me in trouble, but apparently your inbox is full. There is indeed no key, so it is possible to get the timing off quite easily, but the job isn't only reserved for specialists, its more than doable by those with a good mechanical...

Oops- wiring on a PAS pressure sensor

If its the little sensor just off the high pressure side of the pump that decides if you get a light on the dash or not I don't think it matters which way round they go buddy. (Don't have my car with me to get you a pic I'm afraid!)

    Steering Wheel not Centrallising

Wow, some people really are idiots! The PAS bottles got a great big steering wheel moulded into it, lol, lets hope the damage hasn't already been done :( Glad your getting somewhere with it though.

    Steering Wheel not Centrallising

Hi Liam, with this being in one direction only, clearly your looking at a lot of friction in one direction and not the other (aka something hysteresis related). It could a very odd geometry issue, or a worn rubber component, such as a rack bushing. Unfortunately I'd disagree with 15 degrees not...

When to stop spending, cam belt change 182

In my opinion I'm totally with Danny, I would get the belts done and not worry about the dephaser. It really shouldn't be an issue, I've seen plenty of 1*2's that have gone over 100k on the original part. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it shouldn't damage anything else when it goes either, so deal...
