This is awesome. I watched that auto Alex video and was like yes I want a Williams Clio and then saw loads which were worse than the titanic or the price of a 911, but lack the budget or know how of how to fix one
Good luck with it and post lots of pics..
Thanks all, this is super helpful. I didn’t realise that it had been for sale for a year plus, that says quite a bit
Also the non phase 1 parts aren’t ideal..
I think I will take a punt and buy a 200k one for cheap and fix it up from there.. at least I know what I am getting into.
Thanks
Hi all,
Found this phase 1 in my search for one and this seems a bargain in the current market. It’s had the sills, arches and belts done plus a respray

Am I missing something or do you think as it’s...
Yep agree with this - get the Jon fonz mounts and the trendlines or similar..
Steering wheel is a good addition too and then get a nice exhaust on it and pound for pound you can beat them..
So here’s my view after and still owning a lot of Clio’s namely phase 1 172, 182’s, 197, 200 and then a 220 trophy
In my view for a weekend and track toy a 182 is the best in my opinion. They feel and drive much better than a mk3 / noise and enjoyment from driving is better
A mk3 is quicker...
Ok thanks. Standard is 5w-40 which is what I am using.. will have a read about Fuchs titan race..
Would the temperature at the weekend made much of a difference ?
Hi mate, I use Jerry cans all the time for my racing.. to save the hassle and make sure I run the exact fuel I want I just use a measuring jug like this… https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/b-g-racing-flexible-nozzle-fluid-pouring-jug-7001933/
Makes it much easier.
Hi all,
I have a Clio 200 which i race in the Clio sport championship. They are basically standard cars with race pads, cage, spax dampers and a black line diff. Everything else is standard
My car is a 53k motor and had arp Conrod bolts at the start of the season with the oil changed after...
I had this on my rear caliper.. in essence it needs a caliper rebuild. The cover is all twisted so won’t seal properly. Best to get a new caliper or rebuild it…
Here’s what mine looked like
What an absolute cluster f….
Definitely be onto beanie sport until they get it fixed. That’s just poor unless there is a genuine reason it’s now drinking more oil which there isn’t….
For info - My 182 before it decided to explode the Conrods at snetterton mid quali never drank that much oil...
We race there in the 750mc and last year in my 182 which is basically a stripped out car with spax dampers (not great), ecu with a basic map on it, standard brakes except carbon Lorraine pads and 888r’s I did a 2:02.8 in Quali.
Definitely more time in it and if we were on stickier tyres a 2:00...
