I think car content is just about one of the worst things you can do in reality, unless you're just commenting on news and stuff. Someone I went to college with reviews camera equipment and has just under 1m subs now, so has done pretty well out of it, so it's definitely possible to make a...
I think these channels tend to follow what works and, when it starts to get less popular, they either pivot to something new, or just crash and burn. It also depends on the popularity of the presenters, as an individual or group with a strong following can keep going for a while.
Obviously Top...
On the above, I just noticed that he's got 45k subscribers already, so he's not off to a bad start considering that's his only video.
It's so interesting seeing what works and what doesn't. The whole approach of buying cheap-ish cars, fitting BC suspension, throwing in some Car Vertical ads...
I'm fascinated to see if he can make it work. Not because I like his content, but just because it will be interesting to see if yet another British car YouTuber can break out on their own by doing the same old things. Mind you, I could see him being absorbed by AutoAlex if Alex thinks he can...
The only difference I noticed was that it seems a bit more reliable. I was doing something with a consultant and we were using the paid and free versions to experiment. The free version seemed to go off on a bit of a tangent and then get stuck in a hallucination loop pretty quickly, while the...
Yeah I loved those. They were a genuinely great listen, and probably some of his best work.
Sadly, he seems to be quite focused on the PR stuff at the moment; doing paid promotional work for various people. Understandable though, as it's probably more lucrative than doing his own content.
I don't know how they get the volume so wrong on that podcast. They double record all the audio, so should be able to get it pretty much perfect.
Some of the content is ok but, as is so typical with WRC media, it can lack a bit of critical analysis. They're a bit too close to the FIA and the...
Dario seems a good lad.
I like Smith and Sniff generally, but one of their previous episodes (the one where they were on a plane) was genuinely dog s**t. I struggle a lot more with The Intercooler though. Prosser is ok, but Frankel is such a pompous t**t. Another one of those motoring writers...
Yeah definitely seen it in the past. The prices of MK5/6 Escorts seem to have got a bit mental generally to be honest though. I had loads of them when I was younger and have a real soft spot for them, but I can't believe some people think base model ones are now worth thousands. I paid £800 for...
The position of the front wheel gives away even some of the better reps. The front wheel sits slightly further forward on the Cosworth, so the front overhang is shorter. Unless you use genuine front wings and bumper (and modified lower arms to move the wheel forward), it ends up looking a bit...
