There is a massive salvage site near Bristol where you can buy damage repairables called dhales I bet he has bought it from there and fixed it! That's where I got mine from and repaired it, managed to buy my 53 plate 172 with 35k on the clock year ago and repair it for around £2200 and was fun...

I get around 35mpg I was well happy with that it's better than my old Fiesta Zetec S was and much much faster!

That's fixable looks worse than it is get it on a jig, get the parts second hand you could fix that for 1500 quid max. Someone got a bargain there.
