    Car ramps - how high?

I have a trolley jack that fits under the sills and axle stands. The reason why I hate jacking the Clio up is due to the soft sills, I use a slotted hockey puck but they still get bent. Whereabouts do you put the jack on the chassis rail? And then where do you put the axle stands?

    Car ramps - how high?

I just got back from holiday and my ‘Car ramps’ had finally arrived in a huge box. I get one out and unravelled it from the 200 metres of packing paper then went to remove the other one…oh. So yes, the price is for one, which explains why they’re cheaper than Halfords. Currently £22 though so...

    Car ramps - how high?

Thought I would chuck this on this old thread, rather than make a new one. I just ordered these ramps from Autodoc, they are currently £28.29 on the app, which I thought was pretty cheap: www.autodoc.co.uk/yato/16371451 Will need extension ramps (or bits of wood) to work with the Clio, or...

    Clio 172 sat on drive

I’ve owned my 172 Cup for 10 years. I’m in a very similar position, it’s a second car, and doesn’t really do anything my other car doesn’t, but I just can’t seem to part with it. I had mine plugged in to a permanent Norco trickle charger, which seemed to be doing a great job of keeping the...

Where's the go to place for 172/182 injectors these days?

I have installed the Autodoc app, and added my Clio 172 Cup as a vehicle. It says that the Magneti Marelli injectors (805001446001) aren’t compatible with my vehicle. I guess this is a mistake as you aren’t all ordering the wrong ones?

    Rear brake help

Calliper leak on that side. Two separate circuits. Handbrake is cable operated so still works.

Clio 172 Cup OEM+ Restoration Keeper

This looks amazing. I now know what seats I want to put in my Cup. I’ve owned mine since 2014 and always intended to put Recaro Trendlines in there, but these look even better. I’m considering the Bilsteins too. I think the shocks are a bit tired and wouldn’t mind something a bit firmer in the...

What have you guys beat in your clios

I beat my whippet once. He ran after my car and I didn’t want him to get run over so I booted it. He’s got the legs on the little French shitbox from 0-38 mph, but after that I smoked the skinny little c**t.

    Clio 172 rear disc change

Sorry yes I was being silly. I obviously didn’t put it on the discs and pads. But I do sometimes find it hard to know where grease should be applied, I remember there being long running and often fierce debates on LotusElan.net about how greasing bolt threads affects the torque settings. And...

    Clio 172 rear disc change

Cheers. All done. I put copper grease everywhere just to be sure. The pads should scrub the excess off the discs I would have thought. Need to find some other lockdown Clio jobs now.

    Clio 172 rear disc change

I’m doing my rear discs now, callipers and discs came off fine with the breaker bar. I've got the old spacer washers off and cleaned them up, along with the callipers with a wire brush drill attachment. My question is where should I be applying copper grease before putting the wheel...

Midlife crisis + understanding wife = New Toy

Welcome Cads, I think you've got a good'un there, it certainly looks like it's been well looked after. George up there ^ will sort you out with the parts you need. I'm not sure who the best supplier is for the auxiliary belt, but someone can recommend a decent specialist in Bedfordshire area I'm...

    172 Cup Restoration Progress

No, you can't sell it! It's looking great, I'm pretty much copying everything you've done to yours. I've ordered my rear discs and pads, exhaust has just been fitted and I'm replacing dampers and springs next. Already have a Snappy wheel, but I've just got some De-Solv-it sticky stuff remover...

What have you done to your car today ???

Same as yours! I'll post some pics and a video up if you are thinking of one. As they're custom made I imagine each one is different. They do offer a remap with the exhaust but I'm too tight to pay £500 or whatever for a dubious 4bhp...

What have you done to your car today ???

No, dead easy. Just pull the spring clips off the original ones, and push them off, just mind the hatch doesn't come down on your head when you do it (it's a lot heavier than it looks). Then clean up and grease the mount points and the new ones just push on. My hatch wasn't opening all the way...
