    Cup owners with no problems

june 03 Cup, 5k miles, all ok except for delay throttle response partially fixed by replacement throttle body after much negotiating( ie persuading reno dealer there was actually something wrong with it-and suggesting possible fixes!)No rattles, 100% reliable.

    Cup ride quality

Cup Suspension. it may be fine on a smooth racetrack, but not in the real world of british road surfaces. I bought mine with a view to rallying it - noway safe or possible on bumpy lanes. the 172 sport is easier and safer in my opinion, and im looking to try and head in that direction with spring...

    clio 172 cup suspension

172/cup suspension. does anyone know the spring rates for both the 172 sport and the cup? are the shocks the same? I personnally feel renault have got it wrong on the suspension, the Cup is far too nervous on a bumpy road, and in my view verging on mildly dangerous. Any comments?

New Cup in two weeks... advice please

    1. check it steers ok, no vaqueness or the need to constantly correct all the time. 2. If you have any Flatspots or lack of throttle response,DO NOT ACCEPT the car. Just Walk Away! 3. Run in for 1600 miles.

I have a june 03 Cup, and im suffering a major flat spot on the throttle pedal at the first part of its movement. Lookers Renault at Chester have had the car on the computor but say the printouts are fine, and say theyre not allowed to order in any replacement parts to do a "trial and error" fix...

    dealers are muppets

the cup is supposed to have 0 toe-out, +or- 1.2 mm, 172 sport is 1.7mm +or- 1.2mm. My cup has steered oddly from day one reallyhard to put where you want at 90mph+, so we set it at 2.0mm toe-out and problem solved, except occasionally wouldnt straighten up coming out of tight bend with lots of...

    172 Cup Throttle response

my newish Cup suffers from a noticeable amount of apparent freeplay on the accelorator pedal ie.your first bit of stuffing your boot down does virtually nothing! This more noticeable when cold, but is a problem even when hot as you cant get the power on quick enough to fire it out of tight bends...
