This problem has been around for years I know, but surely there must be a 'solution' to the sticky finish on the RS Clio plastics,
I know it can be stripped off with some trouble or even replaced, but I am looking for something that would take away the sticky 'feel' without removing or...
Indeed, I am in the same situation, my car has done about 600 (yes six hundred) miles since 2017 when last cam belt change!! also with dephaser, aux belt and water pump done at same time at specialist, and guess now due again, been standing most of time and only very occasional use envisaged in...
Hey, it's got an MOT again! - October 2023, did all of 11 miles since last MOT in February 2020.
Just needed a bottom ball joint due to the gaiter being perished.
Since last post on this project, the only event was the n/s quarter glass got smashed (whilst parked up and no idea how). That was...
Thanks for all the advice guys, will keep all in mind when it comes to it.
I have seen some Nankang NS20, which have a similar pattern to PS3 and in my price range, anybody tried these?
As for wet driving, not too bothered as rarely take the car out in the wet, and even if caught out wouldn't...
Hi Guys, Happy Easter
Thinking of getting my Clio out of retirement, been about 4 years since last use.
Looks like the rear tyres will need replacing, Mich. PS3, but badly cracked around the side walls near the tread which seems a problem with these as I have done less than a 1000 miles on...
Sorry no, the screen company procured them, and part numbers not included on invoice.
The screen with fitting was about 430, and another 210 for rear quarter.
Sorry for late reply and doubt its of any use to you, but...
Had mine replaced just over a year ago, was done and sourced by independent local company who got it from Renault main dealer at my request and insistence,
The first glass the fitters bought out was incorrect despite Renault assuring...
Not sure how much this helps much, -the only2 pics I have when I straightened mine out.
Mine were not totally manged, but were bent over, I managed to use a sideways positioned jack to straighten them out rather than a big hammer.
The inner piece is a bit longer as you can see in the photos.
Hi Guys
As title suggests, I am having thoughts on an outdoor Carcoon for the Clio.
The tailored cover I have used for the last 9 years is just about to give up, looked at a few Carcoon videos and maybe this is the way to go as I haven't used the Clio for the last three years, and not sure...
Hey, didn't see anyone else putting you right....
Yes, it's a radio signal at 433MHz, the pickup is a small unit fastened around the ignition barrel.
You can take the blade out and renew that but the send/receive circuits are encoded to the ECU, so that part is not easy to change.
A few years back did a few small zinc plated parts with a Heath Robinson set-up .
Cost about £25 for a pair of zinc anodes and chemicals, I already had a regulated PSU to supply the power.
The results were fine and quite pleased with the few small parts I did and they still look good after...
Only one glass is etched on mine, I was never sure if this was a security extra added by the dealership, may be someone will come along and say.
Both glasses replaced were the original factory fitments and neither were etched.
I thought the UV was in the laminate, not sure but hope so as UV coating tends to scratch.
The car has been laid up for a couple of years now, so had to sort it myself, I don't think most ins. would be interested in fitting manufacturers glass on a car of this age?
No, the original screen was not etched, but think glass is etched on the side glass bur can't remember which one , the new screen is not etched either, has the Renault logo on nearside.
Yes it was, the first screen was incorrect even though Renault dealership insisted is was right (supplied the VIN), apparently there is something in the depths of the Ren system about it if they had checked, so they got it right second time. Not convinced it is worth the extra dosh though - the...
