Fair enough. In your case, I doubt they'd catch it.
Mines a standard CUP, but the time and effort in keeping it OE+ I doubt I'd find another in the same nick for the insurance payout, hence why if it was Unaffected by the theft, I'd have it back.
But it's a car. It can't be 'abused' or 'assaulted'. If it comes back in one piece, without damage then what's the issue? Main thing is its found and returned as is.
CS_dave, I've read your project thread start to finish. Can you honestly say if you car was stolen, then found in the same...
Are you taking the piss? Is a 182 - its mains purpose is to be ragged. You may as well say you'd never buy a 2nd hand RS cos it been ragged - they all have at some point...

Poor rear tyres cause a loose back end. Brought mine with budgets on the rear and I could easily get full lock lift off oversteer by lifting off on a damp island. Just changed to decent tyres all around and it's difficult to get the rear out unless it's really wet - even then it's not as...
Look at the 205 gti scenario. Still a fair few about. Shitters are £500, mint/nut & bolt restorations are £5k+ and some dreamers are after £9k
If it's under 70k miles, and very clean/ original and you can store it for naff all, then in 10 years it may well be worth a few grand.
I paid less than 1k for a 94k mile cup. Very straight, few mods, but required belts. Factor in £300 for belts, £170 for a Dephaser/oil/filter and £50ish for ball joints/tre's and your around your £1500 budget for a reliable, fairly economical hot hatch (averaged 42mpg for the last 600 miles).
