Hi,
I'm 21 and have 4 years NCB.
Cheapest company I have found so far is Priviledge.
I have a Liquid Yellow Cup with value at £9000 and Fully Comp I got quoted £642.60.
I am looking around because my renewal from Adrian Flux came in at £1243 which I thought was a big P!SS TAKE.
It also...
i normally drive braintree way on the weekend as i go fishing sometimes in Greater leigh i think its called, its on the way to freeport basically and i come from rayleigh!
Oh and i have a LY 182.
i've had my LY for about 2 months now. wasn't even suppose to be buying a car, it caught my eye in the dealers while driving along so i pulled over and test drove it and the traded in my alfa 147 and drove out in the clio! lol
Are there any reliability issues with the k-tec turbo conversion that people have experianced or any issues with say something like the gdi cam package?
I don't think the cam package would make much difference to reliability but i've heard good and bad things about different cams in these engines.
coilovers you can customise to your own taste by height and stiffness etc, i.e so if you go on track you can stiffen everything up etc.
With a sports kit, i.e springs and dampers then you can't alter it, it will drop the car a certain height and will be a certain stiffness.
So basically...
I don't mind speaking to people but all i am basically interested in is racing, Slowest car i had was my fiesta zetec s, but even that had nitrous! lol
The VW made loads of induction noise but didn't have any go even with the tiny wheels, looked pretty cool though i thought, not my cup of tea...
182 benefits from a 4-2-1 manifold and a 200cell cat rather that 300 cell, thats basically where the power improvements are.
Its all down to personal choice though, you also have a twin exhaust on the 182 or if you prefer stealth then you cant see the exhaust on the 172.
i would go for a 182 coz if your stripping it then they will weight the same anyway, the 182 you have a little more power, the 182 cup suspension has wider track and mor camber etc, therfore should be better around track. if you wern't stripping it then i would have gone for 172 cup.
maybe next meet should be at santa pod RWYB drag racing, corsa vs clio, would be a good laugh, no matter what engine size. or maybe a trackday would be better as thats not all down to power.
Oh and i wasn't being ignorant, its just i turned up to talk about cars as thats what the meet was...
My insurance is up for renewal in october, i will be 21 with 4 ncb. I have always had high powered modified cars and i switched to my clio half way through the policy so i dont know how much it was for the whole year!
I have always been with flux though.
How much people reckon i should pay...
try adrian flux and see what they say as a quote and that would probably be a good base line. they dont charge extra for visual mods, i.e wheels, bodykits, tints. but they do charge for any item that increases performance.
