Good day! I had two track days done.
The season of circuit racing is probably done, since winter is right around the corner.
Many updates are to come including exterior and suspension.
Engine seems very healthy and I am looking forward to making little Clio go faster and look better then ever!
Good day everyone!
I have a dedicated 172 ph1 Clio for circuit/track use.
However, currently I am running old rally wheels on it with unknown ET.
I now have 195/50 R15 Nankang AR1's tires on the car, and I think I could use lower profile and wider tire.
From your experience, what wheel width...
Finally we had a section of our home track upgraded and I got a chance to give my clio a whirl!
For now I got a new hood and underlip ordered, and it needs some new tires on the back.
Hopefully I will get to go on another track day soon!
Good day!
I have a dedicated track Clio, that I converted from gravel to trackday car.
Since I have spent some time with it I feel like my current suspension is not up to the task, in comparison to the rest of the car.
First, the good bits that are already done:
- Full cage
- Racing eat...
Good news!
I got the car back right as the temperatures hit -17C here in northeast europe.
- Got new winter tires 185/60 R15 Kumho WinterCraft WI51 with very soft compound
- New wheel studs and nuts
- Wheel alignment for snow (less camber)
The good part - car held out my gravel/snow road...
Good day everyone!
I finally got my little track monster back.
Since I hurt the front bumper anyway, I want to repair/repaint it and add fog lights to it.
Here are the questions:
1. Is there a specific 172 ph1 air duct made, and if there is where can I buy or 3d print one?
2. Are all the...
So I finally got the car to an actual Renault sport specialist in capital city.
Here are the main things done to it:
- New ECU with a racing tune
- Engine wiring harness redone
- Rear light wiring fixed
- Grounding wires fixed
- Radiator fan wiring fixed
- Engine head work (new valves)
- New...
Long coming update!
The good part:
The good part is basically year 2021: I had made a commitment to do at least 5 track days, which I did.
However, there is a bit more to the story then that.
Since my car in 8 years of ownership never had it's cambelts changed, I decided to make that...
Update:
I spent much more money on the little devil:
- Changed all the belts
- New dephaser pulley and other rollers
- New ball joint
- Water pump changed
- Injectors washed (one replaced)
- Transmission oil changed
- Oil sump seal changed
- Changed transmission and engine oil/filter
Ordered...
What does goosed mean?
I will try and get my work laptop and reconnect the RS tuner to it.
I highly doubt this car ever had been mapped, because the RPM seems to indicate stock levels.
I will look into the wiring of ECU, it seems to have a few interesting-looking wires that have been...
Sorry to revive my dead thread, but I have poured in quite a bit of cash into my little Clio, and now the engine refresh part has come up.
Maybe anyone has a clue how to fix my problem?
Also, would it be possible to just send my ECU unit to EFI and have them do the job?
Here is my Ecu code on...
Darn pandemic got in the way of me going racing again, but that does not mean I shouldn't prepare the little rocket for fun.
First things first, as noted before I got almost all used exterior parts that I wanted/needed to be installed, as well as my rear fender arches and side skirts welded.
I...
