I don't believe that the stroke is the major factor restricting the development of power from the F4r engine.
The crank you mention seems an expensive way to go for unknown power returns.
Developing a hi-output N/A engine is more than just simply bolting together several different parts from...
Think you need to start with deciding how much power you want to extract from the engine and then go from there.
Does it need to be N/A as Engine Dynamics do a bolt on 240 bhp turbo kit for a std 172 engine for £2499.
Seems like a cost-effective way to go to me.
Hi, check the Omex relay /connections which you have to fit when installing the ECU.
Similar issue drove me round the bend until I eventually discovered that this was the problem.
PS it is a special relay as it switches two circuits I seem to recall, so a standard "looks the same" relay won't...

Resprayed my Ford Anglia in 2K earlier in year in spruce green with white roof. Good few coats of primer were required and looking back I definitely didn't spend more than £250 on painting materials at my local supplier.
So £500 estimate for materials should leave you with change.
Most of...
Ah, a good way to explore then and learn a new skill set.
Always lots of cheap second hand "hobby" type mig welders about when you feel the need to have a go. Seems that a lot of people buy them then, finding its not as easy as it looks , and a bit of a steep learning curve a swell so they...
Stick welding not really practical for car repairs, more suited to steel fabricstion / site welding where thicker steel sections are used. Your first welds are unfortunately sat on top of the steel with no penetration. Mig / Tig welding is the way to go really for car stuff with mig being the...
Thanks for your reply and assistance.
Currently car runs with electro/hydraulic system which works just fine, however, as the car is solely for sprints/hillclimbs thought while the car is stripped for rebuilding I would alter it to fully electric thus doing away with the potential for any...
