No, the main and most notable difference/issue is the difference in throttle control (cable on ph1 and electric on ph2. That said though, it's possible to put the ph2 motor in, but you will face a slight difference with the looms!
OK, it does sound more like an immobiliser problem than anything else, there's a few ways to reset the ECU to try and get it to sort the immobiliser out, one method I know of is to turn the key to position two and disconnect the battery for a few minutes.
Great pics, it's an amazing weekend - I went last year and met Ken Block/Kris Meeke etc. Really wanted to go this year but it couldn't happen. It's on the calendar for next year!
Interesting one. My parts database says it is indeed a 2005 172 Cup registered on 10/10/05 as it says on the eBay listing. A late registration perhaps, it does happen, the low-ish mileage would also back this up.
Fair one! Well like I say it's not your usual Turinis/Speedlines alot of Clios have fitted, so even on an RT they'd look alright (if they fit?!)
