Yep, Vice City is the one that got me into GTA, as you say just cannot feel the same playing it now.

Think they also have Hydraulic head lights? i remember the bangers and cash team buying one to repair and sell on, they seem seem like an nightmare to work on, and the engine was wrong the side or reliable, but such cool cool things.

From what i have seen i think it will have a bit of both, i think you can probably make it as in depth as you want to a degree, their will be people who will just race through missions to get to the end as quick as possible to people who will be aiming for 100% completion from the word go...

I don't really like button mashing games, and it's been a good while since i played this, but i don't remember it being too complicated, it's take little but of getting used to, and remembering to use things like blade oils to make your sword better etc, i have always been a stealthy gun/sniper...
