Standard 172 Exhaust

Car  172 CUP / MG4 XPOWER
I have managed to pick up a standard exhaust that has been in storage for 10 + years, its in pretty good nick but I'm thinking of getting vapour blasted and covered with Cerakote.

Any opinions on this v VHT paint?

Is it worth doing the cat as well, never really here about them rusting and the company i am looking at doing the Cerakote need the parts off the car and I have neither the tools or skill to do that in my garage.

it will cost you as much to get it cerakoted than it would to get a new stainless exhaust.

I've used this before with good results, I did my 172 manifold with it and 1100 miles later it's not flaked off or anything

I have a Longlife stainless steel exhaust now and its a bit boomy, its also the only non standard part on the car and like the idea of it being completely standard.

That's exactly the paint I was looking at, guess I will see what sort of quotes I get back.

You are never going to make a mild steel exhaust last forever if the car is used. In my opinion, just stick it on as it is and make the most out of it for the next 3-5 years and then worry about a rusty exhaust.
