ChatGPT (AI)

Grandad here, can someone do some Ai stuff and let me know where I can buy these drawer handles please 👨🏼‍🦳

Yep, we're fucked.

OpenAI has revealed some of its most advanced AI models went rogue and hacked a start-up after it lost control of them during a security test.

the security tests - called sandboxes - are "supposed to be secure environments where you can see what the models are capable of".

"In this case, it looks like OpenAI didn't make a secure enough sandbox," she added.

Instead, the agents created their own cyber-attack against the sandbox itself, finding a vulnerability which allowed them to escape.

Once outside, the AI identified Hugging Face as a likely source of the answers they were seeking in the test, and tried to gain access.

That screams a couple of the employees wanted to see if it could do it and it did.

We are naive to think the whole ai thing won't end badly in years to come. Think stuxnet but instead of centrifuges it's one of our infrastructures like nuclear, water etc.

Memory prices have quadrupled, the cost of pretty much any piece of Tech is through the roof because everything is poured into building AI datacentres.

All to pump out this:

Well that was a s**t magic trick.

It's supposed to disappear when you cover it up, not have 3 blocks awkwardly cart it off stage.

Trying to make a Poster/Image to help me with sponsorship for the London Marathon next year is so frustrating.
How many versions of kind of my face can AI create?
I think i just need to write more prompts but f me its frustrating.

Was listening to DOAC the other day, and Stephen said he was talking to Claude, and asked it to rewrite some technical documents... and it refused! Said it didn't need rewriting so it wasn't going to do it 🤷‍♂️ also, on another occasion, it told him it was late and to get off the internet and go to bed, lol.

With a name like Claude what did they expect 😂

It’s witchcraft.

I’m weird and quite like a Windows machine for work, most of the business (in my area anyway) runs on Macs.

Someone had developed a neat little tool for stuff, but it was Mac only.

Took Claude Code an hour and a half start to finish to make me a version I could run under WSL2 on windows, and it actually works.

Is there anything better than chatgpt for creating STLs? I have reasonable success with chatgpt but it can get infuriating at times trying to get things right. The amount of time I've spent on chatgpt I probably could of taught myself CAD and design most the stuff myself

I’m doing some cool as f**k stuff (to me) for work on Claude that I’ve got absolutely no business being able to. Now I’ve used it properly it’s quite clear how badly this is going to affect a lot of people.

I’m in the final stages of making a program that has never been done before (that me, ChatGPT or Claude can find anywhere!) and it’s taken me 3 days and cost about £600. 4 days ago I’d never even heard of python.
I also made one that did 18 hours of work in less than 1, that took me 3 hours and will be used for the rest of my career.
Also part way through another one that will probably save 25% of the working week for 4 people in my office, and do a more consistent job with more detail.

It’s definitely going to cause the end of the world.

I’m in a similar boat, it’s crazy the things you can do. I’m ready to bite the bullet on Grok bot too, but I think once that line is crossed there’s no going back 😂

I have Claude code connected to heygen which generates video and audio. Send the video back into Claude desktop which analyses the frames and adjusts the timings for the captions and provides a refinement prompt in general for the video, paste back onto Claude code until the video is refined accordingly.

That’s the end of video editing as a career imo

Yep! I think most people who aren’t prepared to pay just think it’s like free ChatGPT which isn’t all that useful and does get stuff wrong, but throw a small amount of cash into the mix and it’s a different bottle of chips!

The safest people in the world are going to be hands on workers doing technical jobs, but not on mass produced parts.

100% going to screw over software companies unless they’re something like defence.

We got a yearly software renewal through for 4 grand and I thought f**k paying that so just told Claude to create a rip off version and a day later it’d done it.

At least for now the robotics side isn’t precise enough to replace humans, we’ve got a couple robotic arms and it’s sat doing nothing for 2 years now.

Depends on what kind of models your trying to make.

If it’s mechanical you can link Claude to Freecad via the mcp server, then just give it a 2D sketch with dimensions and it’ll convert it to 3D cad for you.

If it’s figurines like war hammer then meshy ai.

It's just random things I've been making lately within the RC hobby.
One example was a tray fitted into one of my jets that hold the fuel pump, ECU and fuel valves etc. I give chatgpt the dimensions of everything, including what needs mounting and it'll do a reasonable job, but when you adjust something it'll f**k something else up that was perfectly fine before.

Warhammer 😂 I'm sad and pathetic, but I have kissed a girl. Once

In my experience so far, it's just not there yet! My favourite so far...

I wanted the owl 2d sketch as a model.

Look what it spat out 😂😂😂 I mean it got the dice bit right. Kind of.

Be quicker to learn yourself on fusion which is free

I'll have a look thank you. At the moment I don't pay for any AI as most of the time I can just model it up on CAD much faster and have the ability to change any parts at the drop of a hat but figured I would try it.

No idea if this is what you wanted but ran it through opus 5 on my phone.

Fable 5 on max would 3D print it and deliver within the hour with some free sweets and a handjob.
