    Bowen's 182 pt.2

It's OK, well perfect for my use. I think it's a bit non OEM for your example maybe?

In other news...and where I need some help... I removed the rear door cards and intend on putting some "track door cards" in place of the originals. This left the wires hanging out looking crap. I'll tidy them up I thought. Big mistake. In my effort to tidy things up I've lost power to the...

I've arranged a drive out this bank holiday weekend of some of the best roads in Wales. There's a group of 15 of us. The aim is to have fun, take photos, drink coffee, talk shite and raise money for charity. The route is about 4hrs long. That's when it hit me... CUP HOLDER for my coffee...

    Power to 3rd Brake Light?

Hello, My first post in here (first of many?! who knows...) Tidying up the wires in the rear of the Clio I unplugged the rear lights to give access and wipe down where the dirt gathers. Connected all back up and I have no 3rd brake light. Got the multimeter out and there is no power going...

Got a few ideas... Watch this space. You know, I didn't. Didn't even dawn on me until you said that. Tom is very old school in his method (although he's really young, well, younger than me) using scales, string and ballasts and not hunter alignment machines. I didn't even see a machine in...

Even just changing lanes on the A roads on the way home it was really accurate and direct. Yeah big test is the Wales drive I'm organising. Which brings me on to my next modification.... A cup holder!

In layman's terms (or how I understand it) each wheel has a scale placed under it and using the height/pre load of the Coilovers the weight is the distributed to achieve a 50/50 split. Bit much for a road car but as this is a toy and it was included in the Geo anyway I thought why not.

Went to see Tom at the motorworks who is a genius when it comes to corner weighting and geo etc. The drive there was uneventful the steering was out but it drive straight enough. Met Tom discussed what I wanted from the setup and what the car will be used for and took my hefty frame in to...

When I bought the Clio it came with a box of spares and a box of upgrades/modifications. One of these modifications was a Steering Wheel lowering kit. I never really thought it needed lowering but the kit was there so why not. Fitting wasn't difficult but there's not guide with the kit and...

    Lowering Steering Wheel

I've put the cowling etc back on now but give me until the afternoon and I'll take it back off and send you a pic. Btw. I don't know if me bending the tabs back is the right thing to do but it worked for me.

    Lowering Steering Wheel

Have you unlocked the handle for the OEM steering angle/height adjustment thing? Also there is a tab either side that I bent out of the way to allow it to drop.

    Lowering Steering Wheel

Reason I ask is the kit came with 4 bolts/spacers/washers. I've searched (check me out!) and "burpspeed"? Used 4 but his was an all out track car and times change so maybe its just two now?

    Lowering Steering Wheel

Just jumping in here. When I bought my latest 182 there was a "steering wheel lowering kit" as advertised above £39 iirc? The kit comes with 4 bolts and 4 spacers? Am I supposed to replace all 4 as I can see there is 4 m8 bolts holding the column up. Or are people just adding spacers to the...

    Bowen's 182 pt.2

Thanks to a few people on here and through Instagram I managed to adjust the camber/castor. I've done it myself for now until I've found somewhere that can do a proper geo setup close to home. I couldn't resist taking it out for a spin... Really pleased with the ride quality on the BC's...

    Bowen's 182 pt.2

On the subject of coilovers.... How do I adjust the camber and caster on the BC's? I know I have to move the all bolt top mounts in/out wards but the strut top isn't a circle its oval, so it won't move around?

Not really had chance to drive them hard, just plodding up to C&M. Now I have the Coilovers fitted, soon as I have an alignment done I'll be able to give you a better opinion.

Yesterday a mate and I set about fitting the Coilovers. It was one of those jobs on a car that you think will take 2/3hrs....but ended up taking 6hrs. Front driver side came off nice. I went to make a brew and my mate (Liam) came running in with a sheepish look. "you need to come look at...

    Rusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!

Great updates as always. Although the seats are "a done thing" they just work so well and suit it perfectly. Can I ask where you got your resistor from and did it come prept in the yellow shrink?

BC DS coilovers arrived next day delivery from @Kamracing cannot fault the service at all. Coilovers look the business. Hopefully fitting this weekend. I choose 8kg/8kg as that seems to be the middle group between a b road blast and a track day. Time will tell. As previously mentioned I...

    Farmers Fayre/Caffeine & Machine Meet 2!

I'll be there. After the success and feedback from the last caffiene and machine meet, I was wondering if anyone would like me to take some proper photos of their cars? Say 10 photos of your car, you'll receive the high res copies etc £10. All of which I will donate to charity? Does CSOS...

I'd like to think so. I had a delivery message from KAM/DPD saying delivery tomorrow! Went for 8kg F/R which I think is standard so maybe they have them in stock ready to go. I'll get them on this weekend if that's the case! Then I'm contemplating a half cage, possibly. It's amazing how...

Now the tracking was sorted I started using the Clio a little bit more to see if/what more niggles it had. Apart from the decat bodge, rattling heat shield and the really rattley PMS it went and stopped really well. A few more pics Then back home to start more tinkering.... Headlight...
