my little 1.2 clio has given me so much hassle over the last few months im considering changing it. however it still manages to make me smile when i go for a proper drive. and now im 21 i can afford something with more oomph. sooo how are the 172's for reliability? or should i go for the 182?

Re: Anyone want a free clio?! im seriously thinking about getting rid of mine, within the last 2 months ive changed the rotary switch in the steering wheel, coil pack, track rod end, crank sensor and next on the list is the inlet manifold, getting really fed up with it now

could it be a inlet manifold problem as even when driving at 50mph the leak was barely noticeable untill i use the accelerator.

my 04 1.2 16v clio has dveloped a huge power loss. on idle i can hear a air leak which gets louder when the accelerator pedal is pressed, and then returns to "normal" when i let go it idles fine and doesnt sound rough. anybody had similar problems or any help would be much appreciated

is it not stated in the cars handbook?

cheers for your help, can this also cause an air leak. if its any help the oil leak has been there a couple months but the level has only dropped a couple mm.

this morning my 1.2 04 clio lost power and got an air leak from the rear of the engine which gets worse at higher revs. im assuming a gasket has gone but unsure of which one. there is also a small oil leak at the rear could the two be related? any help will be much appreciated

well since my last post the problem came back. so over the next few days i swapped the coils over about 5 times and the problem was only present with the new coil. i got the new coil replaced and i fitted it this morning and it all seems fine :)

Well whenever i change any sort of batteries at work i always put silicone grease onto the terminals regardless of their use just make sure their tightened before applying the grease as its an insulator.

just changed the crank sensor and now it starts pretty much everytime but ive still got the emmisions and electrical fault lights up. could this be a fault with the new coil pack?

the crank sensor was found to be at fault. il get on to changing it within the next few days :)
