Sold my 172 & upgraded to an Impreza Type R, only thing I regretted was crashing it lol. I've now settled for an Impreza Type RA, totally different to a Clio, hopefully I won't have to go back!

When I had my 172 I think it was the K-Tec remap.

I'd cut your losses mate & break it. That's what I did when I wrote my car off. You'll be suprised how much you'll be able to salvage from it.

Depends what you want it for but IMO the V6 will turn a lot more heads and would be the better drive! I would definitely go with the V6.

They said that to me when I crashed my Impreza Type R. Never heard anything else though which was good so I wouldn't worry too much about it!

Re: not a clio sorry. Looks smart, I remember my first car was a Saxo VTR with 106 GTi interior. Not really keen on the back lights though!

Yea my mate has a Clio 172 and his works fine. The button presses in ok, but doesn't actually do anything! I have the correct clocks that rev to 8k and 160mph. I know some other 172's had issues with the trip computer when they had different clocks.

Ok Guys (& Girls) as you know, on the right hand stalk, the one which controls the windscreen wipers, there is a button which you press in and it will display MPG, Distance, Average Speed etc. For some reason, when I press mine in, it doesn't do anything. It clicks, but never displays the MPG...

I think theyre 5.25" in the front and back :) I've always stuck with Audiobahn speakers, quite hard to get hold of but i've never had any problems.

You might struggle a bit with Quinn then, because if the car insurance group is too high, they wont insure you until you're 21. Best thing you can do is give them a try. 2 places to steer clear from though are 4youngdrivers.co.uk and insureyourmotor.com :)

Try Quinn-Direct. I've just recommended them in another topic. I was with them when I had a VTR for my first car, by far the cheapest. They also allow you to drive any other motor vehicle 3rd Party which is handy if you ever need to borrow a car or whatever :)

How old are you mate just out of interest? If you are over 21, Quinn Direct are normally decent with Insurance Quotes, their policies also allow you to drive any other motor vehicle 3rd Party.

I don't really fancy drilling, if it comes to it I will, but i'd rather go through a hole already there! Cheers for the advice though. :)

I think the RSi's are group 11. If you can stretch to group 13, a 106 GTi is pretty nippy.

I'm thinking of putting a small sub in the boot of my '02 Clio 172, I just wondered were is the best place to run the power wire from the battery into the boot? In my last car, it was a ball ache actually getting the wire into the car without drilling etc. Any help is much appreciated :)
