wozzaa : so standard lights would be doing something different?? Once I start on the proper body work I will look into different lighting styles and configurations, but for now, the lexus lights stay.. and I like them. so :p nuts to you. hehe
Adam: I've taken a VTR's off the line time and time again, but that could just be bad driving on their part...
mitch: The exhaust is coming off in favour of two 4" slash cut pipes in 182 fashion, but bigger and different (if you get what I mean). But thats probably going to wait until I've...
They should be full on genuine recaros.. theres loads of room in the front of a Clio, anything should fit really. Just wanted confirmation before I fork over the cash.
my 1.2 is pushing just under 100bph after opening up the rev limiter, induction and a little bit of exhaust work... It eats most saxos (but I dont suppose thats too tricky)...
So it should do better than most of the smaller cars, but my competitive friend Karl has a 1.4 ibiza pushing a proven...
I found something funny at my last show... I have a friend in a Seat Ibiza, his install is awesome, it looks great, loads of alpine, set up really nicely.. but more people came to look at my install and spent more time looking around my car and in the boot purely becuase it was louder.. Mine had...
Does anybody have the definitive answer on size limitations of Bucket seats for the Clio II facelift. Just want to be sure before I fork out a load of cash on some nice Recaro Recliners, only to find they are too wide at the base, or the position is out. Has anybody got any tips on these things...
I like it, but its got waaaay too much on it. I like the styling you were going for, but for me, the bonnet scoop spoils the whole thing... Do you have an intercooler sat under it? If its a no, then whats the point?
I like everything else really, it needs dropping, but its not for me, too much...
Big fan of the Euro Style... very understated, even with the Lambo style doors... Definately a big fan, very clean (and I dont mean in a polished/washed sense) :).
Dan: I can only safely drop it any more on the rear.. I'm putting Coilovers on it on Saturday at Demon Tweeks, but I'll probably be raising the back end up once I've put the new install in...
K-Tec just quoted me between £8500 and £9500 parts and labour for a Turbo'd 172 engine :/ ... I think...
Djw : Thanks, I really like it too, plus its the only colour that I think works well with the Lexus Lights, the second picture doesn't do it justice.. I usually think that the Lexus Lights on clios look far too tacky, and I was aprehensive about getting them... But when I saw it with them on I...
I believe you may have been looking at the old un-modified picture of me at the drag race. Please look at the top picture of my car after I have done all the mods, with it 35mm lowered all round.
Mike
But the bass is always lacking on 6x9's its not real bass, that what Subs are for :) So I choose not to go too low with the crossover, but any set of 6x9's I have owned have always out-performed components when I've got the boot open at a cruise-meet or a show, for the parcel shelf I cant...
There is a chance that your head unit might be using AI-Net for its connection to the CD Changer, if it is then you can use an Alpine KCA-420i as a connector. If it fits then it can be used to control your iPod from the Head Unit as I do with my Alpine head unit, and I cannot fault it for...
if I'm not mistaken, are these lights not Illegal for use on UK roads when they are not a factory standard requiring such things as Auto-Levelling and Washer spray nozzles onto the lenses?
riche: Thanks, its as close to the blue on the v6 as I could find.. Ottoman Blue, it's very metallic, so matching the spoiler up was an absolute nightmare, but its done now :)
AJR: Full brake conversion is a must have, fully adjustable suspension (ride height and dampening courtesy of Koni)...
A before shot... Pretty much as it came out of the factory, on the Drag strip at Modified Nationals seeing what it can do.. It did 0-60 in 11 dead (HAHAHA!)
dutty: I'll get my garage on it, but I'm being swayed by VAG at the moment, plus I think my Garage really want to do something a little more interesting than just putting a bigger renault engine in a Clio..
*EDIT*
Justin: I'll have to speak with him about any issues he has had, any...
Tom: as above it should be a 1.8 20 Valve Turbo, taken straight out of any appropriate VAG donor car. Apparently its considerably tricker to fit one of these engines in a Clio than it is the usual cars these engines get dropped into, namely the Engine Mounts are quite different, the turbo needs...
6x9's sound fine so long as you dont give them too much bass, just make sure your crossovers are set up right and that you are feeding them the correct frequencies and everything will sound awesome.. 6x9's really come into their own with the boot open at shows/cruises but they probably wont suit...
Here is a pic of my 1.2 16v which is going in for it's random engine conversion within the coming months.... It's slightly out of focus, but it'll do..
It's sat on 17's, its been lowered 35mm all round, tints, body coloured trim, window tints, K-Tec Utopia Spoiler, K&N Apollo, Renault Sport...
Whats the point of a nice looking install if it sounds crap?? IMHO it removes something if you fire up your stereo at a show and it isn't kicking out some clear, loud audio..
I instantly lose respect for any install I see if it doesn't sound as good as it looks.
