    Road/Track Car

Ha, i think the 6 trips too and from school everyday may get a touch costly/tedious/time consuming

    Road/Track Car

If I were to have a devoted track car, it would be an MX5 they just don't seem to care about how much abuse you give 'em. I drove it pretty hard, but my mate, who the '5 belonged to, was just flat out all day and it didn't use any oil or water. That car hadn't been run for 18 months until less...

That's what i like about the Quaife diff, so I'd probably go in that direction.

Would I be right in saying Gripper are a plate type diff and somewhat more vicious than the ATB?

    Road/Track Car

I know I'm well and truly getting ahead of myself on this one, but, my current Civic has got a torsen differential and I do enjoy the feeling of the diff 'working' on roundabouts and tight corners. I see Quaife do an ATB, does anyone run one?

    Road/Track Car

That's most certainly my intention, you're right some airflow wouldn't go amiss. 15's will definitely be on the shopping list when the time comes, as will a good overhaul on the brakes. Tracking is definitely a good shout too. M y main thought towards suspension is more its age than the actual...

My main concern s for the brakes, as I said earlier, the Clio I drove last year did muller it's brakes quite quickly, especially...

    Road/Track Car

Yeah, I wasn't looking to go all out race car, I just wanted to see roughly where the land lies with regards to brakes upgrade and suspension improvements. As far as suspension bushes go, is it worth going poly or are they too hard?

    Road/Track Car

I was thinking of sticking to 16's for road use and a cheeky set of 15s tucked up in the garage for track use. Good shout on the Michelin Cup Tyres, I think they would probably be my go to road tyre.

    Road/Track Car

Evening all, I'm thinking of purchasing a Clio 182 as a road car, but i would really like it to be capable of performing track day duties. This would be a daily, which involves taking the kiddies to school, so no roll cages. I took part in a trackday towards the end of last year and I had the...

Generic Mint project (6r GTI Polo)

Apologies for a thread resurrection, but I am contemplating purchasing a 6R Polo GTi and all was going swimmingly until recently I took part in my first track day. I did this in an MX5 and a PHS1 172, with Bilstein Coilovers. This kind of threw a spanner in the works for me, I was all set for...
