Having had Mk2’s and now got a Mk4 with very little in the way of exhaust other than back boxes I have to say my 182 was miles louder with a cat and Scorpion system on.
The Turbos on the 200/220’s quieten then down a fair bit.

there’s a split hose that opens up when the car is up to temperature. I had something similar happen on my Megane and it’s not actually all coming from the cap.
I’d pressure test the system and the cap.
Ah yes, I was on a lesson! I don’t usually teach south of the river but I come over every Wednesday to Orpington to teach my friend and then usually pop to Sevenoaks to spend some time with my dad. 😄
