Decat fitted today and new rear box. Not too loud until you hit 4k and even then it’s a nice howl without being silly noisy. Feels slightly less strangled too which probably shows how bollox’d the old cat was rather than any massive gains. Seats next - treat from the wife ;)

    Rear silencer / tailpipe

This is hurting my brains First pic is what’s on the car, third is what Euros just tried to sell me (part number ‭70 5740 891‬) and second is what I found after a quick eBay search which looks right. The Euro part doesn’t have the hanger anywhere near the right position and the section where it...

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Bilt Hamber’s my go to at work. Tried a few but always come back to it. Britemax Iron Max also worth a look - doesn’t smell anywhere near as nasty and pretty effective too.

Good day today. Sailed through the MOT with no advisories and I bagged an end of line Bluetooth head unit from Halfords (and lazily got them to install it...). Decat will be on later this week as I’ve ordered the downpipe to cat fitting kit, just rear section to get and it’ll all get put on...

Let me know if you want any Gtechniq products or advise mate :)

Clio 172 Exclusive project almost mint

Like this a lot. Get some Gtechniq L1 or similar on the seats to help with blocking dye transfer from dark clothes etc.

For once I had a quiet day at work so after finishing the Golf GTI at the back of the shop, I washed my business partner’s RS as part of some promo photos for some new towels and brushes we’re stocking and then gave the Clio some TLC. Wash, Zaino Z5/Z8 and re-dressed the tyres with my go to...

Indeed Steve - I may be assisting with some of the fabrication so will be taking a load of photos :)

    Wheel sealant on track wheels

C5 would be my go to choice. I applied rim to the Saab wheels and I don’t think it’s lasted quite as long plus slightly more fiddly to apply as it’s a fair bit thicker.

Is this for real?/post your reflections

First 2 are my 88 205, last is a 1FM so 93. Mixture of original and repainted bits.

All off my phone and all new or almost new cars so I won’t take too much credit!

Love a parcel arriving. Decat landed today - car booked in for MOT and getting this mated to a custom built system out to the tailpipe ah the same time. Once that’s done, seats!!

    182_steve's FF 182 progress thread!

Glad you got it sorted in the end end Steve despite the mind bending cockwomble-ness of Renparts.

    Recommend a snow foam

Gyeon slightly thicker than both and works equally well. Worth the extra pennies IMO.

    Recommend a snow foam

We use Gtechniq foam on coated cars and Bilt Hamber on everything else. Valet Pro Advanced is also worth a shout.

    182_steve's FF 182 progress thread!

Steve you’re more patient and forgiving than me. Used them once and the part they sent was useless - secondhand is fine, used, dirty and barely functioning is pointless. Didn’t bother contacting them as I’ll simply take my business elsewhere. Hope you get it sorted!

Small update... If you’ve ever been to a Goodwood event you’ll have heard this chap’s enthusiastic commentary. Sadly he’s no longer with us :(

Photos are deceptive mate but thanks! Stone chipped to hell across the front and needs coating again.

Alfa - one of my favourites!

Had this for the last few days for its annual Gtechniq top-up. One of my absolute favourites we’ve had in the last year.

Update on the other car. I decided to hang onto my Saab as it’s reasonably quick, paid for and I don’t want a big finance payment every month on something new which is losing value. H&R springs, new top mounts, 2 tyres and a fresh MOT and I’m reasonably happy. Still some tweaks and the exhaust...

So we’re almost into March and I’ve done bugger all with the car other than a few drives into work. Caught this photo last weekend after a quick wash to remove the salt and try some new goodies at work. Really need to get my arse in gear and start some projects on it but manic and not feeling...

    Sneaky peak...

V10, RWD and a noise that they heard upstairs in the showroom when the tech fired her up to move to the ramp earlier... Full Gtechniq Ultra package for this one into next week for pickup 1 March. Never a huge R8 fan until today - loving this one.
