Not really. I think people have this idea of cards running massively overclocked with cooler fans screaming at 90 degrees but efficiency is the name of the game.
Not really, these days the core is downclocked massively for mining and you run at limited power too. The memory gets hammered a bit but then it's designed to be anyway.
I meant the 3070, it’ll pay for itself in 5-6 months. Not sure how profitable the 970 is, probably not unless you can plug it in somewhere the electric is free.
I’m using NiceHash, there’s better deals out there and they have a bit of a shitty history but it’s easy and I just shovel the money...
I just use RivaTunerStatisticsServer with afterburner if I want to keep an eye on something, tbh I don’t regularly monitor anything once I know it’s safe.
Still good the logis. It’s a pain there’s no real middle ground upgrade from there, it’s either spend up to 500 for wheels that are mostly logi-like, or spend a grand plus. And hey, a lot of the fastest racers have them.
VR. I’m probably going to get a VR headset next month. It’s brilliant for racing sims since you’re seated.
unless you’re on about the sim in which case it’s DCS I think.
It’s a triple whammy.
1. The new cards are really good value for money. Everyone wants one.
2. Bots. Every man and his dog has a hundred bots scouring all the retailers automatically buying everything immediately then listing on ebay for double.
3. Really bad silicon shortages. There simply...
Some of the mod car physics are ridiculously bad, for example all the 2017 WRC cars are H-pattern... because evidently it’s too hard to go into drivetrain.ini and change SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=1 to 0!
As above if they’re making 3070s and 3080s but 20% are failing to make the cut, then either they can bin them or cut them down to make 3060s. Essentially making extra capacity with the wafers they have.
Be a little while yet I think, whilst they can release 3060s which are basically just 3070s or 3080s that have failed to meet the required performance level and therefore just exist as a way of making money from silicon dies you already have that would otherwise just go in the bin, you can’t go...
Murcielagos, or at least the early GT1 race cars, are the most incredible sounding cars on earth. Also the early road cars are my favourite Lamborghini.
Bed and a microwave and you need never go home! 😂
You’d be surprised how well your 5600xt will work with 4k, or at least 1440p, bearing in mind all this time I’ve been rocking the 1060 3Gb and that’s been plenty fast enough as long as you’re sensible with settings. Wheel and a display and...
Yeah that looks mega useful actually.
Do itttt... seriously having a proper sim rig is endless fun. At least a wheel.
The processor/RAM side of my setup is lacking massively now, I mean it’s still good to run 30ish cars in Assetto but doing a full Le Mans 60 car grid nukes it.
Is that a magnetic wrist strap? Computer has come on well though!
My setup as it stands;
Still rocking the i5 4690k at 4.6ghz with 16Gb of DDR3, but now have an RTX3070 Founders edition and an LG B9, because 4k, 120hz, HDR, and Gsync, all at the same time.
Are you editing in the background motion blur?
Now getting solid 60fps in 4k with literally everything pinned, if I turn off ExtraFX then I'm up to 4k120... Which will probably be awesome when I have a cable that can manage it.
This one's still processing so it's not in HDR yet.
