I love messing about with long exposures, I really like to photograph things in ways you can't see yourself normally. So I broke out the Big Stopper (and more) to have a play.
I found a promising location a couple of miles away, a nice lonely tree. Something very photogenic about those....so I...
Good to hear you're upgrading your gear :)
Used my Big Stopper earlier today, I'll post up the results later when I'm happy with the edits.
Off out again soon to catch the sunset when I can think of a decent location!
I'm trying to get into the habit of editing a photo, then leaving it for a day. Then coming back to it to review it. Sorting of resetting your view point of the photo. So many times I've uploaded a photo, the next day I find some really basic errors.
Great shots!
Only negative thing I would say is I think you're over sharpening some of the photos. There's some really ugly aliasing happening on a lot of the photos.
The front of the car in #4 for example.
I've got the 50mm 1.4, good lens although quite soft at 1.4.
The main issue for you is 50mm on a cropped sensor is a really odd focal length as a prime. Depends what you want to use it for.
Nah, I'll be turning up in an estate with everything in the back, turn up, fit tyres....chuck them back in the car.
I swear it's never been much longer than that when I had tyres swapped over on the Clio.
How much do you reckon a garage should/would charge to fit 4 tyres to some alloys?
I have some shiny new AD08s and want them fitted to my shiny new TD 1.2s, and balanced etc.
£20? £30?
I have no idea, but it's only a 5-10min job if that.
All the comparison pics I've seen of the screen are really close up shots. Do you actually notice a difference in the screen at a 'normal' working distance? For me that's like 50cm or more.
I think anyone who has upgraded from a 2 to a 3 has far too much money. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's basically the same with a fancy screen. And at the distance you use an iPad, I can't really see how the screen is THAT beneficial.
'all my gear' being just a body and one or two lenses.
I can only pack a very limited amount of kit, as I travel for business so that comes first. I have. Nice Kata bag, which I can fit quite a lot in.
Never had any problems at any airport.
Nice shot Scott.
Two things though:
1) HORIZON!!!!
2) The shot looks very cool (as in colour temperature). Might benefit from warming the white balance a little, especially as it's a sunset shot.
Meh....Elises are fibre glass so you don't get dents like you do in metal.
Well at least my VX hasn't got door panels like my old 182 did. That was covered in tiny dents.
I'm not really sure, as I don't use photoshop for that specifically.
It doesn't look like you have enough control points, the for example at the very back where the fence is, in your shot it's blurred where in a real shot that would probably be fairly sharp.
I would undo that blurring step...
Landed at 6am, 14 hour flight....no sleep.....absolutely knackered. But I really wanted to go through my pics. Pretty pleased with the night shots.
I was able to borrow a tripod while I was there, hence the long exposure night shots :)

Not a bad guide that!
Although, anyone with experience in proper car rigging will soon spot the tell tale signs int he 'motion blur' in the background of a faked shot.
Nothing will ever recreate a proper rig shot, but there are other ways of doing it in software that is more controllable than...
I queued for a midnight launch of a certain game before, and I will never live that down. A definite low point in my life.
Those two must have loads of friends.
I purchased iPhoto when I was bored in the hotel ear lie this week. I havent used it much tbh. Snapspeed is better I would say.
What would you want it to do?
