I'd recommend plate holders tbh. Can screw them in place, fit the plate, clip it in place and it's fixed secure. (Dependant on what type of holder you buy) Also neatens up the car and should be easy to change for showplates etc. (unless you have a FancyPlates plate)

Small update again! Got some new Alpine speakers yesterday so replaced the ugly JL Audio ones and also fitted the retro speaker covers to the rear. Quick snapshot of my little OBC and standard gearknob. I did fit the SE lip to it but the valance is slightly bent so I need that sorted out by...
