Thanks for all of your help guys! Battery and alternator seem fine. Turned out to be due to a faulty ground from the amp, in the darkness we ground it to a plastic washer rather than the chasis (d'oh!!)
My uncles got a charger that he's bringing round on friday, also he's an electrician so hopefully he'll have a multimeter too (probably has one). Sorry this may sound a little silly, but how exactly will I know if my alternator is working? First car and all so im still learning the mechanics of...
Not that I can recall, unless when trying to poke the powercable through the firewall, I went out to check, but my bonnet latch seems not to want to work (frozen shut possibly) I'll see if I can get some pictures of where I put the cable through tomorrow. Thought it could be the alternator but I...
What exactly is wrong with 8 gauge? It's what I have just used to install my amp. Could it have anything to do with the problems I've had http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?678334-Wired-up-my-amp-now-my-car-doesent-start

Hi there everyone,

Well that's one mystery solved, thanks guys.
I took my key fob to timpsons the watch repair shop, they offered to test my key for free, and according to their tester it wasn't very strong they replaced the batteries and then showed me how the last person to change my batteries had ruined the...
Thanks very much, so if the barrel has been changed would I be right in thinking that I will never be able to unlock manually?
Also would you happen to know where/easiest way to replace the battery?
Hi, this is my first post so here goes.
I got my first car a couple of days ago, (1999 Clio 1.2 Ph1) and I noticed that I was un-able to unlock my car manually. The only way to open my car is by using the key fob button. The key physically wont turn left or right in the lock and I was just...
