No real updates on little Bluey other than I've put about 600 miles on her, she's not broken down and nothing's fallen off. 😅
I've put the paintwork and interior back until the end of the year as I have other priorities .i.e. getting my house finished before winter comes and we all freeze to...
Love a good back story. Looked and sounded great going past Majuba Jon.
I thought I was a nutter taking on 3 Clio Sports projects at the same time, haha, but fair play to you, your cars look ace!
Looking good. How far are you going with it? I really enjoyed building my track car, which ended up a race car and couldn’t be used on the road in the end. It was a weapon on circuit and I sold it on this year to a lad racing in tin tops. Going to build another one next year, only this time...
My BG judders and bounces along the road if I try and drive it slowly from cold. Boot it and it won't go anywhere like it's misfiring.
We're talking minutes though, then it's fine. So I now routinely start the car in the morning or evening, slowly put my seat belt on, shuffle my arse in the...
I've read post from as far back as 2006 of people complaining about the cold maps.
My BG was playing up a few years back, so I replaced the following on mine:
Both lambda sensors
New genuine Knock sensor
New genuine spark plugs
New Magnetti Marelli injectors
New genuine temp switch
New...
I replaced every sensor on my BG Jon (all genuine new parts). Went over the car with a fine tooth comb - you know what I'm like - and in the end had the ECU reset by Chris to the factory version.
Never cured it, so In the end, I drove it to Chris and it's no better really. I thought if Chris...
I parked up the BG as I haven't got around to putting A/C back in yet and used the RB.
The Air-con runs really ice cold but on Tuesday afternoon in 38-degree heat with the fan full-on, I did feel for the old girl 😂
Putting it back in my BG now.
After 5 years of not having it, i can't take getting stung in the face or pinged across the chops with White Van man stones any longer 🤣
Thank god the RB's is ice cold.
I tried to put the gearbox gaiter bracket over inner boot (opposite ABS ring) and warped it. Got a leak. Luckily I winged it and Shaftec replaced F.O.C.
Second time around I just removed the outer boot clip and it slid over, then replaced with a new clip. Annoying that these shafts don’t come...
I haven't touched mine since end of April, house build has taken over, so sort of lost interest in it for moment. Get some pics up of the detailing when it's done!
Sad to hear. A few of us on here have been through the pain of tackling the underneath. Not a pleasant job!
Sadly there are lots of shiny 182 turds about, many owners completely unaware.
I wouldn't touch another one unless:
a) I knew the owner/history of the car
b) There were comprehensive...
Ok, I’ll embarrass myself first 😂
Prices have cooled a little with fuel prices but I think the person who buys yours won’t be too bothered about that. I’d hazard a guess and say somewhere between £12-£14,000 for the car on its own. You’d easily sell those spares individually so I’d go down that...
Aye I understand. I’ve had my BG up for sale half a dozen times and every time I’ve found a buyer, I change my mind and spend more money on it. There’s a lad across the road from me at Bristol Street Motors who’s just sold his Fiesta ST and is probably in the market for a 182. I’ll give yours a...
I was going to come down in the RB but the corrective paintwork has been put back until mid July.
So providing i don't have to be on building duties, i'll come down Saturday morning and head back home in the evening. Give the old BG a run out. It'll be nice to finally meet people who've helped...
I had sportlines on my Kia GT and they were a bit bouncy but great at Cadwell and Croft. Also had some Pro-kit on my Honda Civic and they were really comfortable and good on the road. The latter are a good balance between comfort/handling. They’re good on the RB, just not as good as the...
I had Cooksports on my BG 182 and found them too crashy. Fortunately I still had the original CUP springs, so refurbished those and the car drives lovely again.
My RB has Eibach Pro-kit springs and they’re very close to factory. They don’t ride the odd bump-in-the-road as well as the CUP...
Honestly, i wouldn't bother putting the latest OS on older machines, it'll just slow your computer down.
I've been into Macs since 1998 when i purchased a G3 Bondi-Blue iMac desktop (still have them all boxed up at home).
Just upgrade a couple of OS at a time, then buy a new machine and put...
As in nuts towards steering rack - both sides. It's a moot point but it's how they'd come from the factory. I've built a 182 racecar and restored 2 road going 182's and i've found if these small details have been overlooked, it's a good sign everything else needs checking and correcting haha...
It must have been in tight for it to snap (180Nm for reference).😮
Without sounding pedantic, the bolts would go back in L-R for NSF and R-L for OSF. 😉 Good luck with the build 😀
