Is this a "common" issue or caused by bad gear changes?
I am asking as I test drove a RS200 a while ago that had this issue. That was totally f***ed though, you had to press the clutch and wait for ~2s or so before changing gear, otherwise it would always do it (3rd to 4th)!
Not caring the type of person but what's the point of lowering a car beyond the point it is usable (not only for practicality reasons but the suspension needs travel to work)?
Each to their own and all this but I really don't see any benefit on doing this, the opposite in fact.
Tim, my main passion is suspension and I've put a lot of time, thought and money on this area; it has all the optional STi factory upgrades (pillow ball lateral links and trailing arms), Prodrive RB320 rear ARB, custom made Bilstein B14 PSS, GrpN top mounts etc.)
So in order to convert a "standard" 182 to a "Cup suspension" 182, what does it involve?
Cup hubs and dampers/springs at the front and Cup springs at the rear?
Thanks Liam.
What would be a potential reason this has been removed? It doesn't seem to cause fouling to the ITG filter. Do you guys have any idea on cost of the missing part?
It is a car I am interested in buying and I am trying to gather as much information as I can about it before I make...
What is the metal piece missing in the engine bay at the front of the engine and what is its purpose?
It seems it has been messed about with.
Cheers.
It should look like this below
I'd like to know this as well but I imagine you would need a crane to support the gearbox. The difficulty I assume is during refitting when you have to lift the gearbox.
I can't remember the reason I was told to be honest, something with the material wearing out or the spring.
Yes, tell me about it when you drive another car afterwards.
Edit: beaten to it!
I've test driven a 182 Cup and a Trophy lately and they both had very heavy clutches, in particular the Trophy.
Is this a sign they need replacing?
I thought my Subaru had a heavy clutch but the Trophy I drove today was x10 times worse.
Thanks.
Hi everyone,
I am new here although not in french hatches, I've been driving 205s/AX/106 in the past and a few Subarus, I am now looking to get either a 182 Cup or Trophy.
What is the dephaser and at what mileage does it need changing?
I see it being mentioned in a few adverts but some cars...
Great guide, just what I needed to understand, thanks!
Has anyone driven a non-Cup and a Cup suspension car?
My main passion is suspesion, is it worth waiting for the right suspension Cup (or FF) car instead of a "normal" non-Cup version?
I guess the wider track makes the car more stable and...
