Tried the hold button down method last night. Didn't get a beep, so either it's a brain problem or a hard fault. Haven't tried the battery off yet as he has to use it to get to work.
My lad has a 1.2 Dynamique on an 03 plate with all the bells and whistles on it. The remote key locking/unlocking failed and he thought it was the battery. New one bought, same result. red LED is flashing on the key so is presumed working but nowhere can I find any reference to a receiver for it...
mmm, that's what I thought, however, why the hell is the casing, made out of rather thick steel, loose without some locatable fixing so it can be tightened?
On an 03 1.2 16V behind the engine about level with the cylinder head, there is a metal box (which is loose and rattling about) measuring about 2" on each side.
I have seen other references on here to it actually being the ECU. Yes, it appears to have quite a few wires going into and out of it...
