You need a seperate wiring bit to connect to the stereo mate. I cant remember off hand what it is, but www.caraudiodirect.com do it.

After a new stereo for my car, not wanting to spend silly money, but want something "known" if that makes sense. Only requirements: Ipod (be it mechless or with a lead) Have red back lighting / buttons (car has red interior, and orange dial lights) Really not clued up with these anymore!

That seems to be the usual stereo type with Japanese cars. (I admit, I am tempted with mine!!)
