i know a bloke who is an ex-rally driver, he knows litterly everything there is to know about crossfows and lotus twim cam engines, he was telling me of all the engined he built (alot) the best he got from a 1600 was a bit under 150 bhp and a 170 odd from a 1800 conversion, this was all done...
like me, if you run them out through the sunroof, across the roof and back down though the boot its no problem, when incorperating silver duct tape you can achieve a raised viper stipe look,
Im running Naim Audio equipment all round, i finaly decided to route the cables externaly to avoid interfereance from the power and rear light cables, sounds nice but its not exactly a stealthy install,
thanks for your help
Ben,
i think it looks mint, the super smooth look is modern and tastefull IMO unlike the awful jap style conversions that everyone seems to be trying, but then i would say that as mine is in having the front de-badged among other things, maybe the critics will be more impressed with mine as...

a real girl who knew a bit about cars would be would be sliding around on the leather in a 170+BHP clio ;-)
it worth bearing in mind that they will soon find somthing else to complain about if the car went.

what way is the best for running power for an amp in a clio 1? i hate having holes cut in things, as what often happens in the end is they rub and later short leaving a real fire risk,
any help?
ive had between 170-300, you would be really hammering it to get it below 170, alot depends on when you fill up again, i.e light first on or reaching end of reserve, i suggest you change air and fuel filter and plugs, just for a start, mine did benefit from this, and sensible driving im afraid...
ben i am not being funny mate but i wouldnt leave your car anywhere dodgey, 6x9s are worthy of quickly popping the window and making off with the alone, and if there more in there than its thier luck, i have had loads of stuff nicked out of my car and none of it was the slightest bit visable and...
yeah this is good i agree, but not enough to leave my mind at rest, i know it can be done but am not totaly sure how, i think it involves glueing, also where the material is proud of the shelf in paces it shows up alot in the sun and the way dust settles on it etc, maybe double thick material...
is your just a standard looking 172 from the outside? especialy the stereo, i.e uprated speakers on display? point i am trying to make is modded cars can be assumed often to have uprated stereo, but standard cars, the only indicatiob would be the flap dowm, and therefore i will from now on leave...
this may sound minor but i do worry alot about weather i am better leaving the flap down panel down over my stereo or not, reason being i have still got the standard balupunk in there (bless it) bit i am very concious of thiefs, whats better leave it up and show the naff worhtless stereo, or put...
anyone done an absolutly indistinguishable parcel shelf to take 6x9s, i can afford to have anything that can be spotted from the outside (thiefs) the phase 1 shelf has recessed sections that would need material sticking down, anyone done it?
