You could always get youself a new wireless N Router and wireless N card for your PC - but if i was in your shoes I'd buy a couple of Homeplugs for about £40 - much better that wireless.

Re: What anti-virus? If your theory is sound why download a AV product, install it, run it then remove it? Just install a good AV product that you can easily disable when you need full throttle from your PC? I look after 20+ Business Networks all with secuirty applicances scanning traffic...

Split tunnel them, also with their website's loading issue - Can you repeat the slowness on their pc? maybe it's just a browser issue? try chrome or something for comparison?

Was gonna say - sounds like a DNS lookup issue. You could wireshark it but if you need performance figures then maybe try nmap and do tcp pings?

I got a 50" - love it.

Is it slow when you right-click the files? What happens when you go to office app and open the documents from within that? I've had this kind of problem before due to inactive network drive references in the registry.
